Fun interactive reading time
This book was instrumental in helping my toddler learn facial expressions, meaningful vocalizations/gestures and simple words when he was around one year old. It encourages fun interaction and learning time with your baby.

For infants and toddlers
My child loves reading this book. I feel like it has definitely helped with them sounding out the words. Have been reading it since 7 months old and still a favorite at 16 months.

For better and worse- my son started talking
My son was about 18 months old and not putting words together in sentenced yet. When he was born, he needed mouth surgery at 9 months and we always worried this would slow down his speech At 18 months, he knew about 10 words he used regularly but had a habit of saying words one time and then never saying them again. He communicated a lot with his eyes and hands, and he understood a lot of basic requests and understood a lot of what we said. Worried his speech would fall behind we got the book- read it for a few weeks, and by 19-20 months he is saying more words than we can count. Maybe that was just his time, but I think the book helped. I think the way the book was set up gave him confidence in how he pronounces his letters and I would recommend it to any parent worried about their young ones having a speech delay. We bought a few more books by this brand. The book lines up babyโs facial expressions and emotions with what they are saying and compares words that rhyme and sound a like/ really highlighting whatever letter is different.example- โwhen Iโm thinking my mouth says hmmmm. When Iโm eating my mouth says mmmmmโ great book. Repetitive- and highlights those little differences in words for baby. Only problem- thereโs one part where is says โwhen Iโm surprised my mouth say โah!โ Or something and โwhen Iโm sad my mouth says โwah.โ For the next two weeks- when my son was sad (did get a second cookie or second cup of juice, when it was time to come home from the park, time to go to bed. Time to go insideโฆ.. my son wouldnโt cry. He would sit there and say โWaaaah. Wah! Wah!โ He sounded like an adult pretending to be a baby. It was super weird and even his nana was like โwhatโs up with him going โwaaah waaah wahโ I laughed and we skip that part of the book now. But him literally saying the word โwah wah waaaaahโ were pretty sure came right from this book because thatโs the only place we would have heard โcryingโ like that and he wasnโt crying/complaining/whining/protesting like that before we started reading this book. But this book is amazing for building confident in young speakers. Very well done book!

Really does help with speech and language! Makes a great gift!
This book, along with the "I Can Say Mama" and the "I Can Say Dada" book by the same author, has had tangible effects on my toddler! He was a little delayed in his speech, and these books truly made a difference. He started to say the words in them when we would read with him every day. As an elementary teacher, I know the absolute necessity of reading to your child and providing a language-rich environment, and these books help contribute to that. I also appreciate that the photos show decent diversity. These books make a great gift!

The BEST baby book
I absolutely LOVE this book! I bought this and began reading it to my LO when he was 5months. He is now 23 months and talks SO much! I credit this book and others like it for early language development exposure. This book is most fun when used as intended- with lots of emotions and variance in rate, ruthym, and volume of speech. The pictures are true to the mouth shape for each sound. My lO still asks to read "the baby book" and loves making the sounds and faces for each picture. Would highly recommend for all babies to the point include it in my gifts for new babies!

Baby likes the book
I feel like I have to read this 3x a day to get results, and honestly if thatโs what I have to do, so be it. I read the book in a certain tone and my son knows when Iโm about to say one of the highlighted words. He just wonโt say it. We are supposed to be starting speech therapy soon. He does like the book enough to the point where heโll bring it to me to read, or he puts my hand on it.

Very Effective!
Thereโs a lot of trial and error teaching babies. For our son, this book was highly effective in not only learning new sounds but learning to โreadโ. He can literally flip through the book on his own and make the sounds. Heโs also used the book to express his emotions to usโparticularly sad and mad. Heโll find his book on the couch and point to the page for us to see and make the sound. โOk. Understood, kiddo!โ

Essential for speech therapists
This book is a staple for me as an early intervention speech therapist! Itโs great for my kiddos working on building verbal imitation skills and also those with motor planning deficits who benefit from visual models. The pictures are engaging and the large size keeps them my kidsโ attention.

We love the books in this series for our babies up until age 2. The photos of other babies are so engaging and the text and parental guidance is so useful. It definitely helped our little one learn to talk!

Great quality and my son loves to recreate the faces and sounds in the book

My daughter absolutely loves it! She would imitate the photo of the child and tries to make the sound (granted, I did show her few times what each page meant). Some pages made no sense though, like zzzz for sleep yet the baby in the photo isn't exactly showing the mouthing position to do so but regardless, daughter still likes it.

I brought this book after seeing a speech therapist recommend it on a tiktok video. I was hesitant but ultimately took the plunge and so glad I did. We just have fun with it, and read it whenever my son picks it off the bookshelf, eventually he started mimicking some of the sounds so it does work!!
