Great product for a homemade grow tent. For a good price too.
It was delivered quickly and in great shape. The material is the perfect thickness for my grow tent. Previously I tried saving money by using Mylar blankets, those survival blankets, and they were hard as hell to work with. The Mylar blankets were too thin to staple, would tear easily, and it still let a lot of light pass through it. On the other hand, this material has little to no transparency, it staples on drywall and wood, it is tough, and it has good reflective properties. Smooth reflective materials (like Mylar blankets) tends to scatter light (especially if there are wrinkles in the material) in a disordered and inefficient way, but this material seems to be scattering light evenly and it doesn't wrinkle (as long as you do a decent job). If you are building your own grow tent than this is a great material, especially for the price.

Item wonโt reflect -> ***Update: New roll is perfect. ***
Item arrived wrinkled, eliminating its ability to effectively reflect light, the solitary purpose of this film most anyone purchasing this product would be using it for. I ordered a replacement and am returning this item for exchange. Not worth even a three star review if the second roll arrives like the first. I am quite sure all 50โ of this item is damaged. There is no way I will take the time install this compromised Mylar film in its condition. Letโs see if the replacement roll is any better. Update: VIVOSUN absolutely exceeded all my expectations with the replacement roll. I submitted my request to return the original roll, which had a crease (caused by the shipping process, Iโm sure) that would have critically affected its ability, in my opinion, to reflect light properly (the sole reason for my purchasing the film). Even before I had a chance to drop off the item to be returned later that same day, they confirmed my request and had already shipped it early the next morning. VIVOSUNโs quick follow through saved me an extended loss of productivity. I received the item about two days later. I couldnโt be more pleased with how they resolved my issues caused by circumstances almost certainly out of their control. My only concern now is: Does this roll really have 50ft of film (with enough people who reviewed their product commenting that theirs was shorter than what they paid for) but Iโm not concerned enough to unroll it in an attempt to find out. My original review was 3 starsโฆ. Not even a 4.99 star review is merited. 5.0! Great follow up, VIVOSUN!

Easy to work with, highly reflective, looks nice even as a wallpaper, increases lighting
When setting up the second grow room in my basement for my larger floor plants, I did the research to find out the most reflective surface for the walls of my grow room. This room had plastered walls with a stucco finish that collected dust and dirt. In my research, I found the options for wall covering and reflective qualities to be white flat paint, white gloss paint, flat (thin) Mylar, and diamond cut Mylar. Of these options, the diamond cut Mylar had the best reflective qualities and was the best for consistent reflection. The room to be covered is approximately 20" X 16", so I bought the 100' roll. This has been a "learn as you go" experience, but we can hang a panel in about 15 minutes or less now using staples to hold it to the wall. To hang on a wall quickly, put the roll on the floor, pull up the end to the ceiling. make sure it's hanging straight, and staple it at the ceiling. When you are sure it is hanging straight, cut it at the bottom using a metal ruler and a box cutter. Staple it at the bottom making sure it is taut and straight and then on the sides. I wasn't sure how much we would need when I bought the 100' roll, but it's enough to cover the walls in the entire room. As for the smell reported by a couple reviews, there is absolutely no smell on the roll I received. This Mylar is highly reflective as plants I have placed away from the light canopy are growing well. Having covered the stucco walls in this room with this Mylar, it looks like a shiny, light grey wallpaper that is very attractive and also very functional for my plants. The front of this Mylar is very reflective and the backing, although not cloth, is a plastic feeling material not much different than some of the lined. light-blocking curtains available. I don't think it would be machine washable, but this Mylar could easily be made into light-blocking curtains. It is flexible and hangs very well. If you plan to make holes at the top of panels, it would be best to use grommets so the weight of the material does not tear the holes. I am very happy with this Mylar for my purpose, but I'm sure it would be useful for so many other applications. UPDATE 07/09/20: I have had this Mylar installed in my plant grow room for a little over a month, and the plants seem to be doing better. My avocado trees aren't under lights, but are growing and doing very well with only the reflected lighting. UPDATE 7/15/21: I have had this Mylar installed on the walls of my grow room for over a year, and I still love it. It has held up very well and is impervious to water. Every now and then, it has been splashed with water when I was watering, and the water just ran off. A few times the water left watermarks after the water dried, and I just wiped them off with a moist paper towel. This Mylar still looks every bit as nice as the day we installed it. It was definitely a worthwhile investment. I hope this review was helpful for you, and I will update the review if my opinion changes.

Thick & attractive & white-backed!!
Disclaimer: I have not used a light meter to test itโs effectiveness. My newest hobby is Kratky hydroponics ( not pot, but salad-type leafy greens and cooking herbs). Surprisingly, the grow lights hurt my spouseโs eyesโฆ But my spouse is sensitive to all kinds of things so perhaps thatโs not so surprising. So instead of proudly showing off my grow to hours to myself and all my guests, I need to ๐ block the light. As long as Iโm doing that, I might as well help the plants! So I bought this thick mylar sheeting. I attached it to a drapery rod via shower curtain hangers and, to make it look pretty on the outside, and also to celebrate My hydroponic hobby, I fronted it with shower curtains with green plant art. The mylar being backed by white (Unlike the black of grow tents) Is a huge part of why I picked this product. Itโs in my main guest entertainment area and, unlike a secret pot farm in the basement, looks are therefore important. The shower curtain is wider than this roll so I used one for width and an extra 23 inches (2 strips). I havenโt attach them together but may if it seems called for later. The thickness of this material leads me to believe that it will last pretty well for quite a while. I the thickness, however, was a bit hard to use a hole punch withโฆ My whole punch lost its effectiveness after the first 10 punches Making the final 14 punch is very difficult. (24 because Iโm setting up my 2nd grow tower.) So far, I am super happy with my combination of materials, thir effectiveness, and their appearance. I did notice a little bit of fragrance which seems to have dissipated after a few hours of being in a windows-opened room. Four stars is my top rating until I gain more data which leads me to add or decrease a star.

Using as an EMF blocker behind a Smart Meter inside the house.
I purchased this hoping to attenuate harmful EMF's coming from my Smart Meter. I cut 2 pieces from it: one I hung on the inside wall, essentially behind the meter. (an adjoining wall prevented me from placing it directly behind the meter). The other will complement a piece of aluminum screen that sits under my headboard in the 2nd floor bedroom directly above the meter (I was having heart arrhythmia at night). I did a before and after test with my RF Meter, and showed a reduction of radiation (on the first floor), but will need to do additional testing when time allows, esp in bedroom, to calculate effectiveness. The 6 mil is VERY nice; very similar to the thickness of a quality plastic shower curtain liner, which the white side feels exactly like. But it will crease, so handle carefully to prevent lines. That being said, I believe it is quite sturdy enough to tolerate metal grommets for hanging with shower curtain hooks as another reviewer suggested, with more probably better to distribute stress. I used four ratcheting tarp clamps that have a rope hole at one end, and hung the piece with nails thru the rope hole. That's what desperation looks like! I like that the white backing is less obvious, now just need a solution for my tin foil hat LOL! Actual Measurement of piece: 47.5"(inches) wide x 12.5' (feet) long. I was so grateful for the extra 2.5 feet! Item arrived undamaged rolled onto a sturdy tube, wrapped in plastic and inside a long box, so it is pristine with no folds. If meter numbers are good, I will be buying more of this very nice product. Can't think of any cons. WIll answer any questions if I can, and will update with accurate numbers. At least at night, turn off your wifi routers and get your cell phones off the night stand away from your head! Me, I'm going all wired so I can continue to live in my house.

Good Material for DIY Grow Space
I have a growing area in my garage & was looking for something to kind of insulate as well as be reflective and be easy to handle. This film/sheeting had the properties I was looking for: 1) at least 6 mil thick (.006), 2) diamond pattern reflective surface on one side 3) easy to work with when wrapping over PVC frame. I would have preferred a black backing vs white but that was not an option. The material is thick enough not to tear though not as thick as a pre-made grow tent. It does try to 'kink' a little when lifting or folding if the whole length isn't lifted up at the same time though the 'kinks' do smooth out once it's straightened correctly. The material is very easy to cut. I haven't put any holes in it so can't say how well they would hold against ripping. Once unrolled for a bit, the curl (from being on a roll) straightened out & the material hangs nicely. All in all, this is pretty robust material for a DIY growing tent. Personally, I think a pre-made grow tent is worth it as the material is thicker, it's fully sealed and has zippered openings & vents. The cost isn't that much more. However, I needed something taller than 6.5' which is the height of most tents.

Strong, thick and durable
I love this stuff. I used it to make custom window shades for my truck. I used super strong magnets to hold it on the outside of my truck. The mylar keeps my truck at least 20* cooler in the Texas summer. I also made huge pouches to cover delicate plants when it gets cold here.

Great Quality Mylar film
I wanted something a bit more durable than the thin flimsy Mylar I used for my last garden. This material is thick, durable, and has worked exactly as I had hoped. I used a grommet tool to set ring grommets at the top edge of my reflective curtain, and used zip ties and magnets to secure the curtains to the metal lettuce racks. Thick, durable, highly reflective, and a nice clean/neutral white on the outside. My only gripe - the end cuts were not perfectly square, but they gave me a bit of extra length so I was able to cut the roll ends square and still have a bit over 25โ. I would buy this again with no hesitations if I expand my winter garden further.

Heavy Duty, Nice Product
Not sure what other people bought but this is definitely 6 mil, very heavy, nice pattern. You do have to be a bit careful, as with any plastic film. If you fold it over an object, it will crease or mark. Was concerned how to mount but I just stapled it to a stick and it certainly looks like it will hold up well. Keeps light in my hydroponics setup. Recommended.

Good product just not the length publicized
I had no problem with the product, received it in good condition. Installation was not complicated. Like many comments here, I received a roll that missing 38 inches out of 600 inches (50 feet), 6.3%. If I use the measurements provided in French 152.4 meters, I just received 14.2 meters, I received 9.3%). Usually, sellers deliver exactly on the measure they publicized or slightly more.

Good quality product for the price
Very good reflector in the market. Not only it is durable product which does not tear easily, but also easy to cut into sizes using scissor or box cutter. This make my job a lot easier. The delivery is pretty fast and on time. Overall it is a good quality product for the price. You can get better deal if you buy a longer role.
