I have a pair of Bose AE2 that I use daily. I cannot find more comfortable headphones so I really wanted to upgrade them to have a mic. This perfectly does the trick. The headphone side of the cable includes the correct recessed shape to fit. It does fit tight. The material for the recessed piece is slightly soft, the original is rigid plastic. I've experienced no sound differences.The mic seems to be of average quality. It's fine for phone conversations. I haven't gotten a chance to use it with Skype/Hangouts/etc yet though where a higher quality stream is possible.Using a Nexus 5 the controls work as I would expect them to, although the instructions say they work differently. Apparently this is device dependent. I like how it's setup for me. Volume/Up down works, answer button answers/ends calls and controls media playback. Double click to skip songs, single click play/pause.No issues with these at all. I'm a happy customer.

My husband has a Bose noise cancelling headphone and was looking to get a new one because he said he wanted one with a microphone so he could use it with his phone. I did some online shopping and found these new Bose were about 200-300 dollars a piece, and they mostly say they compatible with Iphone. Well, we don't have an Iphone and I didn't really want to spend that much anyway, so after reading the reviews on this, I decided to have him try this one. He was very surprised when I told him how much this costs and reluctantly tried it. He says it works great with his Samsung S6. The microphone and the volume control are great. He no longer needs a "new" Bose, so I saved myself over $200. Great product!I would highly recommend.

For six months, the cable worked well and did everything I expected of it. I was pretty happy with it as it worked for controlling music on my Android phone (HTC M7) and had no noticeable difference in sound quality compared to the Bose supplied cable. However, in the last week the cable has stopped working even as a basic cable. The right speaker now cuts out unless the connection to the headphones is held in just the right position. Maybe I just got a bad one, but the main cable is pretty thin with stiff connections with little tapering at each end that can cause a lot of stress on the internal wires. I'd be surprised if any of these cables lasted longer than a year or so of regular use.

I bought this to use my Apple Bose headphones on my Xbox one and it worked like a charm. The mic is really sensitive though, which is good since I don't have to talk very loudly but I wouldn't trust it outside especially with wind.The wire is a good build and is a flat design to stop tangles.

Been using these with my Bose AE2's with my Xbox One using the stereo headset adapter and it was working great. Clear sound and mic was working perfectly.Also use it to make/take phone calls and the other person on the line did not have any trouble hearing me and said I sounded really clear.Great product and makes as a good replacement for the standard bose cord with the addition of a mic.

Worked great for about a month than stopped working in the left ear. I mean it was cheap and did do something others don't do, but it did break. So if you are looking for a month of awesome cable use, than buy this.They may have replaced mine if i complained about it...but i didn't want to spend the shipping and time all for a cheap cable. But for all I know they may have a good customer service, if your into that.

Works perfectly well with my white Bose AE2 headphones.Finally I can control music playback on my android (Samsung Galaxy S4 mini). Play, Stop, skip to next song.Haven't tried whether the mic works for phone calls, but I'm pretty sure it will.It's really annoying that bose doesn't seem to care too much about android users.

I'm on my 3rd one of these in about 6 months. They work for a while but are cheap and stop working very quickly within a couple of months. If you're looking for a cheaply made and low price option then this is for you. At this point I'm going to stop buying these...too expensive to keep replacing.
