BEST MOKA/STOVE TOP ESPRESSO MAKER
I lived in Torino, Italy last year for a few months and my Airbnb came with this stainless steel stovetop maker that made the perfect cup of coffee. Italy is known for their espresso and cappuccinos and it did not disappoint but for those days that I didn't want to take a walk to the local coffee bar or wanted a 12 oz cup of strong coffee to contemplate my morning with, the stovetop maker delivered. Even with the cheapest coffee grounds at the Supermarcato that was 2 euros for a bag, it tasted great. I recently moved where the only coffee maker around is a Keurig machine. Now I've never used a Keurig before but let me warn you.. if your a coffee lover DO NOT buy a Keurig. I was spending so much money on Kpods trial and error trying to find a brand that didn't taste like muddy water drinking 3-4 cups of awful brown liquid that doesn't deserve to be called coffee just to get my caffeine fix and still ending up at Starbucks in the afternoon with a headache. I was done after 2 weeks and I started researching for a moka pot like the one I used in Italy. Many stainless steel options on Amazon didn't seem trustworthy or wasn't what I was looking for. I knew exactly what I was looking for so it took some time and after reading countless reviews, articles and watching Youtube I finally decided on THE LONDON DRIP. To my surprise … it was almost IDENTICAL to the stovepot I used in Italy. The stainless steel was heavy and durable, was the perfect size came in a beautiful box with a manual - quality 100%. I couldn't even find one like this in the shops in Italy, most only sold aluminum pots that were double the price of this one. I use LAVAZZA Torino Rossa coffee in mine and one cup made in this stovetop makes your day. Condition it first like the instructions say and keep your eye on it. It makes coffee within minutes! Unfortunately I got a work call during a brew and burnt my pot :( I'm trying to get rid of the burnt smell but it still makes great coffee. Some people I noticed complained of a metallic smell. Yes the bottom case does have a metallic smell at first but that's because it's brand new like anything brand new it takes time to break in, and most importantly in no way did I find that the smell transfered to my coffee. Second thing I'd like to address, this is an espresso maker so a 6 cup makes 6 oz (1 cup) of strong, bold coffee. If you want a big ol' Venti sized 24 oz cup of coffee this is not for you. I also uploaded a picture of two cups of coffee I made using the same coffee grinds LAVAZZA, one made in the Keurig with a refillable/reusable Kcup on the LEFT, one made in the stovetop maker RIGHT. Look at the difference. I'm so happy with this purchase. Well done THE LONDON DRIP, well done!

Thank you a Very old style way of making good delicious cup of coffee.
VERY GOOD PRODUCT! I accidentally brought the smaller 3-cup size and had to return it and ordered the correct size 10 cup large size. I tested it out today as soon as it arrived. It was great. Old school way of making coffee. You can use any form of coffee ground grinds. Delivers a delicious cup of coffee. I recommend this product. I do not get paid for any of my product reviews.

Works great, but hard to clean and lift the lid
I've had this for over a year now. I chose this one because I liked the color. This is my primary driver. (Occasionally, I switch to an Aeropress, but almost all my daily coffees have been made on this thing.) It works. The coffee tastes good. I prefer the stainless steel material over aluminum. The seal is still good after a year. And I think the unit looks pretty and tasteful. Removing a star because of two issues. (1) The little notch on the lid is not ergonomically friendly to your hands. My husband can't open it at all. I can lift the lid with my thumb on the little finger spot, but only just barely. I usually don't bother to try and just have to insert a finger into the little gap between the lid and the chamber to get it open. This is a weird design decision. It's like nobody tested whether you could actually operate the hinge with a finger placed on the intended spot on the lid. (2) The upper chamber where the brewed coffee collects is designed with a very narrow depression that goes all the way around the diameter of the chamber, which is almost impossible to clean. It's so narrow that the only way to get into it would be to wrap a paper towel (or thin rag) over a knife blade and insert that into the slot and rub it around. This is NOT easy to do. To help reduce the effort with cleaning, I've learned that I need to have fresh, boiling water in the water kettle as soon as the coffee is done, and then as soon as I empty out the coffee from the reservoir, I rinse it three times with boiling water. But - was it necessary to design it like this? My previous moka pot didn't have a little slot like this. I don't understand why they would make it like that, and I wish I had known that before I bought it.

Well-built, high quality pot at this price point; sizing is accurate.
This pot is great! I have been looking for a stainless steel moka pot to replace my mom's traditional aluminum one. This is not made with the lower quality steel that some others use. It is well built, all the parts fit well and function as they are supposed to. The design looks nice and sleek, and it is made with good quality steel inside and out. It comes with a well-written manual with specific instructions for care and maintenance, as well as how to achieve the best tasting coffee. After following said instructions to "cure" the pot before trying the coffee, I am extremely happy with its function and the quality of coffee it produces. No leaks, the handle stays cool, and there were no issues with the brew process, which was quick. The sizing is accurate, and it produces 3 small 50 ml cups or one large cup. I had ordered a slightly lower priced one and was very disappointed to see the shoddy construction and very lightweight steel. I decided to spend a bit more and ordered this one. I was not disappointed. Short of getting some of the more expensive ones, this is probably the best quality you can get at this price point. Highly recommended!

Has 3 issues: Tough to remove the coffee holder; top knob makes it hard to open the lid, and...
...and it makes just one cup instead of 10. OK, so a "cup" in Britain must be really tiny. But I filled it to the bottom of the relief valve as instructed. And it made exactly 16 fluid ounces, which is ONE cup (at least it is in Arizona). But it SAYS it makes 10. I decided 16 oz is enough for me in the morning, so I'll keep it. But be warned. It won't serve you and your spouse and eight guests. Get a bigger one for that. The other issues are that the coffee grounds holder fits so tightly on the top of the lower water reservoir, it very tough to remove for cleaning. You have to turn it upside down over the trash can. Difficult when it is still hot. I had the same issue with a Grosche moka pot I returned. But the LUXHAUS Moka Pot - 9 Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker I bought here for my summer home has a spring around the coffee holder's shaft, that causes it to lift up when you unscrew the pot. Much easier. Unfortunately it was not available when I went looking for another one (winter home). And the last issue is that the top has a handle that is supposed to allow you to lift the lid. It is pretty, but so poorly designed that I have to use some tool to get the lid up. And I found that while brewing steam escaped around the lid hinge, super heating that top handle. Ouch! Having said all that, it does make coffee. BTW, it says to throw out the first three pots, to avoid a "tinny taste" from the stainless steel. I threw out only one, because I struggled to get the grounds out and the clock was ticking. So I did get tinny tasting coffee. But, they warned me. One good suggestion in the instructions was to use your kettle to preheat the water to boiling before you pour it into the bottom reservoir. Good idea if you have a kettle (but it can burn you when you try screwing the pot back together). Without this step it took a long time to brew a pot on a smooth top electric stove. After preheating, the water it was instantaneous. But ouch again. When filled with boiling water I had trouble getting the hot bottom reservoir screwed back together with the black upper section, so steam and some coffee leaked from that joint.

Works great, keep parts separate to dry
This moka pot spits out some delicious brew. The basket can hold a lot for its size and allows you to get a strong drink. Tank will hold a bit of water to prevent burn, so you don't have to be perfectly timed to get consistent good flavor. Nice wide/thick stainless steel base works great with any regular burner. 2 minor con, The strainer and top filters are designed in a way that retains water, so be sure to keep the parts separate and allow a long time to dry. This will prevent the issues others have with oxidation. The other is the steel is thin inside the base at the top and you have to be careful drying as its about butter knife sharp. Did not cut myself but can tell i need to be careful!

Great coffee after some tweaking of method
Apart from great looks, this stovetop works well on gas; hopefully will not corrode like our old aluminium one, plus with some tweaking of our coffee grinder to produce a finer grain (grade 4 out of 16) and by not tamping it down hard (to allow the steam to percolate through the finer grounds) we are making consistently rich smooth coffee after a few not so good trial runs.
