Perfectly made and very sturdy. Very easy to work with.

This 5/8" backer rod was a good fit in the 1/2"expansion joint. First the old fiber board joint was raked out. The joint was the pressure washed followed by final cleaning with a leaf blower. This size backer rod is a perfect fit. It is easy to press it in about a 1/2" below the concrete surface. Finger work well to press it in. A box knife with the blade retracted gives a nice even depth. Masking tape was used on either side of the gap to have a clean look joint. Five 10 oz cartridges of Sikaflex 1cSL Flexible Self Leveling Polyurethane Concrete Expansion Joint and Crack Sealant filled the 1/2" x 1/2" X 35' gap. If there is wind and blowing leaves/debris, the joint should be covered until sealant gets a skin

Decent quality product but it is not 5/8”. It is only a tiny bit bigger than the other 1/2” that I bought and quite a bit smaller than the other 5/8” that I bought as well. I would say this is usable where you would use 1/2” it would just be a slight bit tighter.
