Lens Cap for Nikon 400mm f/2.8 AF-S or Nikon 400mm f/2.8 VR Lenses

I think I actually ordered the wrong version initially and had to return it for the N50. There was absolutely no issue and the correct one was on my door steps in less than 2 days. It fits perfectly on my 200-400mm but I did have to add the 3 additional O-rings that comes with the product.

I read a lor of reviews on this product before purchasing it - some critical with complaints like loose fitting and scarp edges. Neither of these concerns turned out to be a problem, The cap fits securely and additional doughnut rings are provided to customize the fit. The cap body is flexible plastic and does NOT have edges "sharp as a razor" as one commenter noted. My one and only concern is that the handle is somewhat collapsable but not completely flat. It restricts the fit of the lens in the Nikon CT-404 case with the Nikon "sock" lens cover on. On the other hand, I suppose I should just toss the clumsy Nikon "sock" cover and use the DZ cap alone.

Very rigid plastic with small o rings used to hold the cap in place with friction. I felt very uncomfortable using this cap, the sharp edges felt like a knife just waiting to scratch my lens. I got two of these new and they both appeared used when I received them. The cap would fall off often. I returned this and got the aquatech softcap which I am very pleased with that soft cap fits tight and is much softer and less dangerous to my objective lens than the don zeck cap which only has several small o rings surrounded buy ser dense hardlastic material.
