Works, but not for all dance games ( and the smell!)
I purchased specifically to use with "Hatsune Miku: Project F" for the PS3. Unfortunately, that game requires the use of EITHER a thumb stick, r1, r2, L1, or L2 button. This is a problem because this game pad doesn't have these buttons as an option. If you have this a gamepad plugged in before turning on your console it will register as the first controller and so you will not be able to use A ps3 controller for the extra buttons you will need. However, if you plug it in after the first controller is on I found that I can hold on to the controller and use the buttons on it in addition to the dance pad buttons. This is horribly inconvenient though, but with a move controller it might be easier. When playing specifically with Dance Dance Revolution though, the buttons all work, but it is thrown off by the inclusion of a PS button at the top - which does not pause DDR.Of course, the real problem with this game pad is the smell. Its giving me a headache just being near the thing. This is probably the strongest formaldehyde smell that I have ever smelled in a controller of all things. Even after putting it on a clothesline to air out, the house stinks of it. It would've been nice if the instructions said to air it out before plane, but it was hard enough to understand the bad English in the manual anyway. Seriously, do not use this thing until you have aired it out first. That much toxic fumes are dangerous to anyone. On the plus side, since the controller works with any game, it will be interesting to see how classic RPGs play with the dance mat.

I got what I paid for
Pros: Remembering that this is fold-up dance mat and lowering my expectations, I can say that the mat is quick to respond and sensitive to light touches. It works perfectly as a plug-and-play controller on my PC and the material has lasted through hours and hours of play without showing signs of wear.Cons: The mat bunches up a lot when I try to do the more difficult routines and despite the "non-slip" backing, this thing slips and slides all over my carpeted floor. I went to a lumber store and purchased a piece of plywood and some velcro which did a lot to solve the previously mentioned challenges. Also, there is no way to feel the edges of the arrows and the mat is only responsive where the arrows are printed, not all the way to the lines. I resloved this issue by taping strips of cardboard around the borders of the arrows so I could tell by feel where I was stepping.I'm still using it almost daily, and that should tell you something.

Great somewhat-smelly item.
Had a blast using this item, didn't have much of a slip problem, only with the songs that were more difficult because I hadn't mastered them. Despite this, it was good quality. The pads were responsive most of the time, it did start glitching after a week of use but it started working again. One should be careful when folding it so the wiring doesn't break and end up glitching. It did have a slight odor that wasn't too pleasant but you get used to it after awhile, nothing a little Febreeze can't fix. Worked on my PC as well, with the help of third party software although it wasn't working when connected with a USB hub, it worked only directly connected to my PC tablet, perhaps it's a power problem? I don't know, haven't looked into it. All in all, it works enough to give you a fun workout and doesn't slip too much, works great on hardwood floors.

At least it shipped quickly...
Shipped in a box that looked far too small to contain a dance pad, and half of it was air-cushions (as if a folded up piece of plastic needs much protecting...)I was immediately skeptical, but downloaded Stepmania, got some songs, plugged it in. Immediately the pad was registering left-presses when I wasn't even touching it. Fiddled with it for a bit, trying to straighten out the massive creases formed during shipping, and after about five minutes of flattening it out, I was ready to navigate menus properly.Jump ahead to the first song, one I can normally complete near-perfectly. Timing is off, constant presses of arrows I'm not hitting while my feet remain in the center, or toward the back-left, which apparently registers as a rapid-left. 'Non-slip' pad is already crawling up the side of the wall behind me, constantly registering down-presses as it does so...Back out of that song, fiddle some more, affix the pitiful adhesive circles that came packaged with it to the bottom, attempt an easier song. Within ten (attempted) steps, the adhesive is falling off the bottom of the mat, and at no point did it cling to the floor. Box it back up, attempt to process a return, only to find I'll be paying out of pocket...Suffice to say, absolute garbage of a product. Might be good for someone who plays rarely, exclusively easy songs, in a noncarpeted room, but for that, you may as well get a $10-15 mat that acknowledges it's a piece of crap rather than spending slightly more on this spiffy-looking trash.

Good Dance Pad
Overall a good dance pad. Plugs in directly and conveniently to the USB port of your PS3. I found sometimes it had conflicts with my wireless PS3 controller. I had to plug out and plug in again to make it work. The reason I gave just 3 stars is because the new pad gives off a very bad vinyl smell. I am not sure if the vapors are harmful but certainly you just cannot open a new pad and start using it straight away. You will need to keep it out in the open for a few days before you can use it without getting a headache.

Not bad :)
I am using this with my computer dance game, and it it working great so far. No lag, and responds to my steps every time. Not a hardcore expert leveled 'dancer' but it works great for my upper intermediate level use. lolOf course, it does not stay put like every other review says, but my problem is that the top and bottom of the mat slides together. You can slip and fall onto your butt if you jump on it the wrong way. I'm just going to duck tape it to a wooden board. Shouldn't have the problem of it slipping around the floor or having the top and bottom slip against each other. If you just have a problem with it sliding on the floor, using some anti-slip foam would work perfectly.

Creases made the UP arrow random. Made a DIY hard pad from it.
I guess I was unlucky with my pad.Electronics were fine but the packaging folds created problems on the layers inside.I used pads like these before, not the same brand but same principle and they were not a problem. The pad connected easily and was very simple to configure, the design is simple.Mine ended up with some creases near the up arrow which affected contact elements inside and created false UP key presses at random after some amount of play.Easy to say it was annoying at best, getting unplayable at worst.I bought plywood and plexiglass and made a hard pad out of it. Works fine since, but far from out of the box.Opening the pad and just putting some duct tape on the non-contacting side to unfold the creases might have worked as well to fix it.Pros :Inexpensive and got all the electronicsCompatible and easy to setupCons :Short circuiting of the UP arrowPackaging-created problems
