I see there's also a bambino plus model. How does that differ from the bambino model?

The main differences between the Breville® BES500 Bambino® Plus has a 2 year warranty while the BES450 has a 1 year warranty, the BES500 comes with the Razor™ Dosing tool, has a slightly larger counter top foot print, a larger water tank, a 600w ThermoJet Integrated stainless steel water path, and adjustable milk temperature and texturing.

All Breville® products, including the BES450 Bambino® are designed and engineered in Australia, manufactured in various locations, and assembled in China.

Does the water come in contact with any material other than stainless steel in any part of the process?

I’ve never seen the machine dismantled but based on the parts list water does make contact with material other than stainless like connectors, bridges etc. and that’s not an uncommon practice with higher-end dual pump machines either.
