GripTight ONE Mount (Black)

Pros:Very compact and light.Expands large enough to hold an iPhone 12 Pro Max in a case.Strong grip.Cons:A bit difficult to mount the phone since you need two hands to expand the feet which are spring-mounted.Springs are strong enough that phone won't fall out but can shift in mount if bumped .

This phone mount is extremely light but still holds my phone just fine. While it’s not as sturdy as one with a screw that tightens down, it is ample for a quick tripod mount and is light enough to make it into my backpacking kit.

After a some light use, I noticed a crack forming near the tripod mount insert. On a backpacking web forum discussing tripod phone adapters, other users indicated theirs had failed in similar manners. This is obviously a manufacturing defect that Joby should address. It’s a neat little unit and if it weren’t for this fatal flaw I would be enthusiastic about the product, but as it stands it is unreliable.

Super light and folds flat in a second. Compared to the heavy and sharp edged aluminum ones (I returned those), this is feather light and you don't even notice it in your pocket. Still have not found one more convenient than this one. The tripod mounting threads ARE METAL and have proved to be secure on all sorts of mounts.

I had one of these a few years back and it was lost. I loved it and finally got around to getting another to go with my tripods. Very stable and grippy. Love this brand. Will get it again...hopefully though I won't loose this one.

I use this with a tripod and an iPhone 8 to stream our weekly church services via facebook live. I'm not sure if it would work very well for larger smartphones, but it's perfect for smaller ones like the iPhone 8. Also, it works great in landscape (horizontal) but would NOT work in portrait mode (vertical).

I bought this for my brother, who wants to record video on his phone, so he could mount it on a tripod. It works fine. His phone is a little older and smaller than some, and it doesn't grip as tightly, because the springs haven't sprung as far. My brother seemed to think it should be tighter, but I think it's fine. The phone doesn't fall out or anything. Maybe don't go jogging with it that way? I definitely appreciate that it folds up flat and thin when you're not using it. I may get another one for myself, just because one never knows when one might be useful.

Highly recommended, very compact and sturdy and works well in landscape mode with my Huawei P30 smartphone in a bulky armoured case.It folds down really small but still feels solid and for me this is ideal. I can carry it in my pocket or rucksack top pocket with a compact Ultra Pod mini tripod when skiing, hiking and climbing and not even notice it, so perfect for a tenner!It's a well designed and well made bit of kit. The only negatives are that it only works in landscape and not in portrait mode and is expensive if you pay full price.I"m very happy with it :-)

Bought to replace one that broke after many years of use, seems to be the same quality as the original so it should be durable enough but it's about three times the cost at time of writing as the original one cost me, which feels overpriced.Nonetheless this is a good way of mounting any phone (even the larger devices, I use it with an iPhone XS Max) on a tripod and handily folds flat so it takes up next to no space in a bag or even comfortably fits in a wallet.

I didn’t realise when purchasing that it can only hold the phone horizontally as it doesn’t expand enough to hold it vertically. Is good for the price of this doesn’t bother you however it’s not fit for the purpose I needed it for

I didn't particulary expect much when purchasing the Jolby GripTight One mount for Smartphones. The images on the listing made it look cheap and Chinese made which led me to believe that it would be poor quality and would eventually break. Never-the-less, I decided to give it a try as my Gorillapod is also made by Jolby and that is excellent.I must say I was pleasently surprised. The mount is of good, sturdy build quality and fits on the gorillapod very well. No problems with fixing an iPhone X to the mount and will serve me well on my travels of SE Asia.

I bought this thinking it would be compatible with the Joby flexible tripod - Wrong !!!Both threads are different sizes.As I've now opened the package so I can't even return it.Not happy
