My girls absolutely love this blanket! My oldest daughter (14) had her 1st one when she was little (4) and as she got older and changed her taste in bed themes my youngest now (4) began to love her older one too. So my youngest has her big sissy’s blanket and she sleeps with it every night. I bought 2 more just to have in the house for them and my oldest now uses the newer softer one all the time again. Long story short this blanket is an absolute hit in our home. It has lasted over many years and many washes. (The older one is not quite as super soft as it was 10 years ago as to be expected lol but still soft comfy cozy.)

The softest blanket I've ever bought!

I'm a nearly forty year old woman and I bought this blanket for myself. I thought the bright colors would be a boost for my mood through the long cold winter; it certainly doesn't disappoint!The colors are fairly true to the photos online. Yes, I realize the folded blanket looks significantly lighter--in some areas it's almost pastel--and that's for two reasons. The first being that the front and back of the blanket are made with two separate fabrics that have different densities. The front is much more dense and therefore darker while the back is less dense and shows lighter. Second being that this is a blanket that looks different under different lighting conditions from different angles.The blanket is very soft with a slightly plush nap. It's also thin and light. Yes, thin and light. I know it says, "extra heavy weight" but that's technical fabric industry terminology for fabric that is of a certain weight. In this case, I believe it's more than 400 gsm and less than 600 gsm which this two-layer 530 gsm blanket is. But I'm relaying on Google and I don't think there is any special standard to these things. One person's heavyweight is another person's extra heavyweight and you have to remember it's FLEECE. Not denim or canvas. It's about the same thickness as a pair of fleece pajama pants from Wal-Mart/K-Mart. Softer and nicer quality though.I've seen no evidence of shedding on me or my laundry and I washed the blanket once on cold and dried on low. With the first wash and dry the blanket is like new.The stitching and hems are good and I found no holes or other defects.The tag sucks. It's cheap, crinkly (read: loud), large and otherwise annoying. Unfortunately, it looks well sewn in, too.The blanket had a harsh smell that hasn't faded completely with the first wash. I have no idea if it is due to the manufacturing or printing of the blanket or the clear plastic bag the blanket was shipped in and I have no idea if Amazon or the manufacturer is to blame.I recommend this blanket--almost everything I could say about it is positive. I didn't love the price I paid, but that's a known Amazon issue and the other stores that have sold it for less were out of stock. If and when this blanket comes back in stock don't be afraid to grab it for a good price. I'm thinking of a more grown-up pattern for my living area while keeping this one in my bedroom.
