Works of John Bunyan — Complete

Same book as Works of John Bunyan — Volume 01
Works of John Bunyan — Volume 01, has better typing and no missing pages that I know of but still no index or table of contents. If you love Puritan writing then go for it but to me it is just a man writing out his thoughts and there is no message for the reader. Waste of time.

The Tinker of Bedford
First off, you do not get a table of contents with this free book. But you do get the complete works of this persecuted saint best known for his "pilgrims progress". This man was an amazing theologian. His insights into the word are as deep as the ocean, and when you realize all he had with him in his cell for 12 years was his bible, and a copy of Foxe's "martyrs" it is even more astounding. This man was taught of God with no help from man. Sit at the feet of this poor tinker and behold the Lamb in all His glory.

Illegible
Cannot read the book. Parts of columns missing and completely blotched. Whole pages also missing.

Impractical structure.
As has been stated by many reviewers, this eBook has no table of contents, which is quite cumbersome unless you intend to read every word ever published by John Bunyan (and that in the order chosen by the editor of this volume). After investing several hours of reading, I gave up any hope of ever reaching "Pilgrim's Progress", which was the work I wanted to read. Although happy that this book was free, I ended up removing it from my device because it was essentially unnavigable. That said: serious students of Bunyan will be thrilled!

I Have Read Better Editions
This is a poor format for the works of John Bunyan. I have read Pilgrim's Progress and the follow up book several times, but thought there would be more included here. Diffucult to navigate through this edition.

One of the best Classical Works ever written! Very educational! John Bunyan is an unsung Hero of the present day Church!
This book has been an education for me I never knew much about John Bunyan other than he wrote Pilgrim's Progress while in prison. But have reading several chapters it has enriched my knowledge of both John Bunyan and the times he lived in. This book has driven home the fact that History indeed does repeat it's self. As the times the church is living in now is not totally unlike what Bunyan lived through. Very good read if you can get past the "archaic" Jacobean style English of King James.

A complete waste of money!
The title of this book should be "A Very Poorly Scanned Copy of the Complete Works of John Bunyan". Many of the pages are either skewed or have large portions of words missing (cut off). A complete waste of money!

Missing pages made it impossible to read
I had great hopes for this book. I do not know if it was a printing errors or not but the copy that I received had pages missing and it was impossible to read.So I would greatly caution anyone from buying this book.Sincerely,]Marc Frigon

Who was the real John Bunyan
When I went to Sunday School at the local Methodist chapel in the 1930's I learned about John Bunyan and his book The Pilgrims Progress. However what the story was about and who John Bunyan was had faded from my memory. Recently I read the e-book "The Reality War Book1: The Slough of Despond by Tim C. Taylor" who referred often to John Bunyan and his Pilgrim's Progress as he developed his Time Travel story along the lines of a choice between Duty and Desire. I was so fascinated by Tim C Taylor's book that I needed to find out more of who John Bunyan was in detail. Here is a book that satisfies all that I needed to know. It covers John Bunyan's life from lowly beginnings through his conversion to Christianity and onto his writings. If you are looking for a well researched and comprehensive book about John Bunyan then here it is. I think that it is an excellent piece of work done as an academic study and as such it is not meant to be an easy to read novel. The book was written after an enormous amount of research and study and no doubt resulted in what the author was attempting to achieve but why not include a Contents & Index is a mystery. If you want to know who John Bunyan was and what made him tick then this is an excellent book for you. On the other hand if you merely want to read The Pilgrims Progress, I suggest that rather than plough through the detail in this book before coming across the story you should go directly to a publication of The Pilgrims Progress.

Complete - but lacking a contents page!
This is, as the title suggests, a complete collection of John Bunyan's writings with a great deal of information about the man himself. I wanted to read Pilgrim's Progress so finding this free kindle edition was great. However, the lack of any navigable table of contents meant I had to manually search through the book to find the beginning of Progress (its 75% in if you're interested) which meant scrolling through pages and pages of stuff I wan't interested in reading. Its a shame, because otherwise this is a good collection.

No effort to edit
Great published works by Bunyan, or any other great author's, at least require some kind of editing before being digitally published. This compilation of his works is not fit for purpose,- even though it is free. It requires to be edited, and a proper cover to be made. And to be sold with a value that gives a publisher some kind of profit: even if it takes a number of years before any kind of accrument. Many compilations like these are direct from source and compiled by individuals for a casual income. Kindles are a great source of acquiring books that are unavailable to the general public, but free content it seems comes at the price of genuine reading experience.

INACCURATE TITLE
Having spent some time on this, I can find NONE of Bunyan's books in it. As far as I can see it is a (very old) semi-biography based on "Grace Abounding" with reference to, but not content of, some of his books. If I am wrong, please tell me!

One man's walk
For an unlearned man to pen this masterpiece, I can only ask what inspired him to change? It must have been something truly impressive to bring about such a change.

The book is very easy to read. It is informative. Reading Pilgrims Progress again is very helpful for Christian living. Also, reading about the author's life is helpful.
