Helpful with monster clay in addition to lost wax
This thing is such a game changer - I bought it as I entered the hobby of lost wax jewelry building/casting but I am a sculptor of many different soft mediums including Monster Clay and let me tell you this thing works sooo well for working with tough Monster Clay! I made a really incredible piece that all the detail work I normally do with similar unheated wire tools went so much smoother with a touch of heat and I love that you can also control a wide range of heat and have two different tools ready to go at any time - be careful changing out the tips when hot obviously, I have hurt myself, but it's pretty doable still and then you basically have unlimited tools, switching back and forth between two different heated tips. It also works fantastic for the Jeweler's wax, especially the blue stuff - green is still really tough so you still have to saw that stuff down.

Extremely loud and definitely used
I returned this item immediately after purchase. As soon as I opened the box I knew it was either mishandled during packaging or used. Many scratches, bubbling plastic, etc. Also - and I can’t stress this enough - it is EXTREMELY loud. Every button and turning it on/off makes a very loud noise that seems absurd. No way to turn off the noise without disassembling the machine.

Not hot enough
It seems like a decent machine but it does not get hot enough for my needs. I carve jewelry wax and this does not get nearly hot enough for working with harder waxes like Wolf wax. It is only good for lighter work , as it cools quickly once touched to the wax

Really works well
I had been using an alcohol lamp which has a live flame and could be knocked over and start a fire. Also have a bunch of kitties that could knock it over. This one is much safer and the temperature can be controlled and regulated for exactly the type of wax I am using.
