I'm going to keep it.
Ok, I gave this kalimba 4 stars over all. However there are two small and slightly disappointing issues. I will start with the positives. It is a beautiful hardwood with tines that have a "bright" and "bell-like sound." I think it is definitely the heaviest of all the kalimbas I have. I noticed the weight when I picked up the package at post-office. Some folks with smaller hands might find that a hinderance. The tines are comfortably spaced for me as I have big fingers. I have returned quite a few kalimbas because of tine spacing. It looks very similar to a Seeds chromatic kalimba, except I think this one is wider and heavier. And while this Loop kalimba is a beautiful looking instrument the design and curves of the Seeds kalimba is perhaps slightly more visually appealing. Which leads me to my first slight disappointment. As can be seen on the pic provided, the logo imprinted into the wood is a tad bit sloppy. Not a terribly big deal, but it is a little irritating and it does mar the overall appearance. The other thing is the instruction book. It is almost completely in Chinese (?). That is unfortunate because it is a generously sized book - 107 pages! The lay out is fantastic for beginners - if they can read it. The first 17 pages are broken down into six days of lessons (The word "day" is in English.) Each day/lesson builds on the last lesson utilizing the diatonic and chromatic notes. (Well, I'm actually assuming that it does!) Those tunes are the usual easy tunes that most people know. Except for four song titles listed in English everything else is in Chinese (?). It is by far the best book I have ever recieved in a kalimba. Unfortunately I can't read the language and unless beginners can read the language they are going to miss out on what looks to be a very nice progressive instruction lay out.Having said all that, I do recommend this instrument. I'm giving it 4 stars. I'm going to keep it.

Sounds nice, super heavy
Quite nice. Very heavy. I'm no expert on sound but it seems like without the echo chamber the lower notes sound worse while the higher ones sound better, compared to another Kalima I have. I definitely needed the labels to figure out the notes.
