Good update to previous Backjoy back roller
I've used a BackJoy back roller for years--once you get the hang of using it, it's better than getting a professional deep tissue massage in my opinion, because you can really pinpoint the areas you want instead of trying to tell someone else where they are and have them move on after a few minutes. I lost my old one and that version isn't available anymore (it was two balls in a neoprene "sock") and I was hesitant to buy this one because it looked more plasticy and hard. But I was desperate so I picked this up. This is a good update to the previous version and better in a lot of ways.Improvements over the original:Adjustable length between the massage ballsThe ability to remove each ball and use it individuallyIn all other ways it's the same as the previous version. Highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a good, affordable back roller.

Perfect little neck tool
It's a nice small, portable device that can really get at those tight knots in my neck. I bring it in my travel bag and use it when I don't sleep well on pillows and mattresses in hotels. Just the right amount of squish and I like that it's adjustable. I lay on my back and roll this under those tight spots at the base of my neck.

relief in little blue balls
very helpful. lay down and roll up your spine slowly - your body weight gently releases and aligns nicely. I'd say it's the next best thing to going to the chiropractor in a pinch.

Helping me recover!
Just recovering from foot surgery and have been using the Roller on the ball of my foot to help relieve pain and stretch it out. Works great!

It's good for some things
From my wife Sarah: I have a lot of these types of pain relief gadgets, and this is okay for certain things. The little balls are not really firm. They're kind of too soft in fact to do deep tissue. However they still work for my upper back if I lie on the floor and press the balls into my back. When I try to use them on my middle/lower back I was just not getting any pressure, even pressing into the device. On the good side though is that it's relatively low to the ground when I lay on it, so it doesn't make me arch or hold my neck up like some of the much larger, similar devices I have.So while I'll keep this around and use it from time to time, it's not really a deep tissue massager. Still usable and gives some relief.

In my own opinion these are the perfect firmness.
I am always on the lookout for ways to relieve aches and pains without taking potentially harmful medications, which is why I requested these Massage Roller Balls from BackJoy.I like the way they have connected the two balls with the bar which allows me to roll the balls evenly on each side of my spine. I also like that you can push them in and out to adjust the width. The balls are easily removed from the bar to be used individually giving you even more options. The overall size of each individual ball for me personally is really just right, they are not so big that I can’t use them under each individual foot, but they are still big enough to massage a larger muscle group like under my hamstring. The surface texture is not raised so much that it really digs deeply, however it does give enough grip to be noticeable and also prevent the ball from slipping around too much.My overall favorite thing about these massage balls though is the density. It seems like every time I buy any type of massage device it is so hard that it is actually too painful for me to use. It isn’t however so soft that it will just squash beneath your weight. For me personally these particular balls are the perfect firmness and I’ve not been able to say that about any of the past massaging related items I’ve reviewed, which is why I’m giving these five stars and I would recommend them for others to try, but it really is user preference when it comes to how much pressure different individuals prefer when trying to release tight or tense areas. In conclusion, I want to emphasize that this particular item was provided to me at no cost through Amazon’s Vine program.Vine reviewers aren’t actually employed by Amazon, as such we don’t receive compensation for reviewing the items provided to us and we are even responsible for any applicable taxes. Amazon does however allow us to keep the items as an incentive for us to provide its customers with TRUE and AUTHENTIC feedback based on our experiences using the product. This is Amazon’s way to help its customers make more informed decisions about the products in which they are about to purchase.I would also like to make it clear that I’m not employed by any other sellers, manufacturer’s or advertisers.
