Awful
There are no directions. You are supposed to scan a QR code for answers or clues. But the codes lead to a non-existent website

Was expecting more
The book says it's a difficulty 3 of 5, it should be a 4 of 5. With a name like Paper Escapes, I was expecting it to be self contained. The book has QR-codes or URLs to verify the answers, which I think could have just been included at the back of the book. It's not what I was expecting, there were about 10 different puzzles that then combine answers to determine the last puzzle. I think it's a bit overpriced for what you get.

The Escape Room experience, minus the room.
The puzzles in this book could all reasonably be found in a classic escape room. However, despite being billed as an Escape Room experience, this book certainly is not that. After playing over 100 escape room games, I have come to expect a theme as the bare minimum from an escape room experience. Every room has a story, and puzzles that relate somewhat to that story. This book makes no attempt at that.If I were to try and judge this as a book of puzzles instead, it would fall far short of expectations. I completed this book in 20 minutes, which for 11 puzzles, is quite a disappointment for their lack of challenge. Perhaps I should have drunk some wine first.

Not terribly impressed with this book
Not terribly impressed with this book. The puzzles are all very basic. My wife and I got through it in about 20 minutes, but she fell asleep after about 5 minutes. If you are really interested in try this particular brand of escape books--try the second one. Its better, but still not worth the price in my opinion. This book would be overpriced at $4.

Terrible
The media could not be loaded. ย The title of Paper Escapes implies that there is more than one game but there is not. Also, anyone who's been to an escape room knows that there is some sort of story and explanation as to why you are doing the puzzles... There is no story line, no directions, no explanation, nothing. You are just given a bunch of puzzles with no idea as to what you are supposed to do, and they aren't even very good puzzles. I would not recommend this book and I will be returning mine because I feel ripped off.

Awesome escape room book!
Quick background. I've done about 4 escape rooms now so I was pretty excited to try the paper escapes. There's nothing that beats the thrill of solving physical puzzles, finding secret rooms and unlocking master locks but I got to say that this was pretty fun for staying at home for a good challenge and this time having a nice glass of wine during it.If you like escape rooms or puzzle games, you'll like paper escapes.

Challenging and Fun!
These were very challenging, at least for me (I'm 58). My great niece did much better with them, she is 13 (lol!). They were fun to figure out.

It was a Christmas gift request. He loves it but I have no idea what it does. :)

NOT Escape Room Puzzles.
It seems as though someone is just trying to ride on the popularity of Escape Rooms by pretending that's what this is. This book of puzzles is in no way Escape Room themed. There is no story or theme at all. It's just 9 separate, unrelated, puzzles and 1 final puzzle using some answers from the previous puzzles. When I bought this I was wrongly under the impression that each puzzle was supposed to take 1 hour to solve, but actually the whole book is to be solved in under 1 hour. At first some puzzles I didn't understand what you were supposed to do at all. There's no words at all, just a diagram to figure out, but you have no idea what to do with it. Others I figured out right away and then ones I got stuck on once I read the hint that pretty much told you what to do (Ex.multiply the numbers together), you could figure it out instantly. I'll point out that there was an error in the hint for the first puzzle, one word is wrong, when I was checking the answers online the hint was different and made more sense. Even as just a book of puzzles and not Escape Room, it was disappointing. There were a couple clever ones, but quickly solved. If the point of this book was to be an escape room game, it should have had a story and a connection with the puzzles. If it's supposed to be individual puzzles which it is, each puzzle should take longer to do, be more complex, give you something more challenging that allows you to work things out and come to a conclusion. I wouldn't recommend spending more than 5 dollars on this of you're going to bother at all. I've played other escape room games at home and enjoy doing puzzle books and this wasn't a good example of either.

Not an Escape Room at all.
This book is not an escape room at all. It has no theme, no story whatsoever. It is a collection of nine puzzles which consist of numbers and some symbols. No images, and the book is completely in black and white (except the cover). Another product which tries to make money by riding the "escape room" wave. If something is titled "Escape Room", I expect a story, a theme, images/design that fits the theme, and some riddles that also fit the theme.
