Success!
Edit. It does work, it does stop the leak each time it is put in the system, but my leak is apparently in a place that cannot stand up to the pressures of the running pump system. I waited until the pool was at the recommended 70 degrees before making my final judgment on this product, but the results are always the same. I add the fix a leak, it stops the leak. I leave it to sit without circulating the pump for a week. I even plugged the jets and drained the return system to let the fix a lead dry. But each time I turn the pump system back on, the leak is back. I'm not faulting they product because I believe the leak is too big for this stuff to permanently fix. Old review: The Marlig Fix A Leak works! I have been suffering through a pool leak for years now. I had isolated the leak to the supply jets and bypassed them with an unsightly over the deck set of pipes avoiding the hassle and cost to do the repairs right, but I had resigned myself to trying to call a pool company out to fix it. Thankfully, theyโre all too busy. While researching pool leaks, I came across a YouTube video about the Marlig Fix A Leak. I looked it up on Amazon and the reviews were better than I expected. I had been facing three to four hundred dollars just to diagnose the leak and a bottle of this stuff only cost $30 so I figured there wasnโt any harm in trying it. My one reservation is that the pool is still quite a bit colder than 70 degrees right not. I wrote the manufacturer who promptly replied that while 70 degrees and warmer was optimum, the Fix A Leak should still work, just slower. So I gave it a try adding a 32 ounce bottle to my 12,000 gallon in ground fiberglass pool. I started the pumping and still lost 4โ of water elevation in the first 18 hours of operation. I was thinking that the water was too cold, but I recirculated the build up of a gray matter at the bottom of the pool and refilled it. The next day, I was surprised to see the water up still. The next morning I was even more delighted to see the water still at the same level more than 12 hours later. And now after more than a full 24 hours, the water level is still the same. Yes, it went from loosing 4+ inches a day to 0 inches. All I can say is thanks for inventing this!

THIS STUFF WORKS...just follow the instructions!
If there is anyone out there who is skeptical of whether or not this product works, let me tell you my story: I have a 12,000 gallon above ground pool here is FLA. We get a good amount of pool water evaporation due to the sun and heat, but recently,I noticed a disconcerting, almost daily drop in the water levels several weeks ago tht based on my knowledge of my pool, was not normal. I am on a very tight budget and I did not want to go through a major plumbing dig out since the pool was only recently totally renovated. I read all the reviews of this and other similar products, but the history and acknodledged performance of this product seemed to say this was the one to at least try. Thank goodness I did. I bought the two bottle version, followed the instructions to a "T" and crossed my fingers. After the recommended wait time once the product was introduced to the suction plumbing and drains,I watched carefully for any further drop in the pool water level. To my great surprise.....it was apparent that the leaking stopped....not just slowed, but STOPPED! I have now been monitoring the levels since I started (about 2 weeks now) and I swear, I think the water level actually ROSE! So far, I have noticed ZERO water level drop. I did what was recommended as far as bottom sweeping any product that settled there to allow it to be picked up by my skimmer (this takes several days to disappear...be patient) and recirculate through the pipes. Each time there was less and less visaible product on the bottom and believe will all will be gone soon so I can clean my pleated filter). So...bottom line is FOR MY POOL, this was a near miracle cure. I will keep up a regimine on a regular bais...perhaps six months....to assure that the leak remains "clotted". Problem solved.

Works for small leaks
This worked for about 6 months on my pool leak (in the pipe that goes from intake to pump). Then crapped out. Used two bottles in in-ground hot tub and it never worked. Assume that this will work (or buy time) for small leaks - but if you have serious issues not gonna happen.

Buy it!
Before calling your local pool company, read the reviews and further instructions on the website. This just may be for you! My pool had developed a suction leak and I was losing about 1/2 a day when the pump wasn't running. My 30k gallon pool is on a 4 hr timer twice a day. My salt levels were getting off more and more as tike passed. Small bits of Algae was clinging to a few features in the pool. Around the beginning of the season I noticed I was getting some bubbles from my return jets and my pump lid had some air trapped in the top. Changed my filter media and checked all the connections on my saltwater system. No dice. As the season went on, my leak got more sever and my pump had a hard time staying primed. After buying a leak detection kit and making my own skimmer leak plug, I verified my worst fears- a suction line leak. My pool is old and built on the side of a mountain, all of my concrete is reinforced with heavy rebar. Cutting part of the concrete out wasn't an option. I read the reviews and took a gamble....and it paid off! I skipped the closed loop procedure and tried the direct skimmer pour route which the website stated worked 75% of the time. I set my filter to bypass, and turned the pump off. Heated the sealing solution in hot water for 15 minutes and poured 1/2 of the bottle directly into the skimmer. I ran to the pump and turned it on for (2) 1 second bursts. After sucking the solution into the return line, I poured the rest of the bottle in. I stuffed a small towel into the slimmer strainer to keep any sealant from coming back thru. The sealant is heavier than water so it should sink on into the skimmer line and plug whatever leak is going on. I left my system off for 3 1/2 days. Verified the pump was on bypass and fired it up. No air bubbles! I ran my dolphin for 24 hrs and switched the valve back to filter. (You dint want this stuff in your sand media) ensure your pool bottom is clean and clear of the little sealant balls that fall to the bottom. Saved me a lot of frustration and money. Bought a 2 pack and have a bottle to stash back. Owning an older pool has made me a pool pro. After converting to saltwater my life has been easy-peezy. It got even easier after a $45 dollar product saved me thousands!!!

Not Recommended for Spa/Hot Tub
I would not recommend this product for repairing small hot tub/spa leaks ... there was only a very small leak in the tubing, so the water being displaced daily was very minimal. I applied product as stated in the directions, and used 3 of the larger sized bottles because my spa is a larger one. It would temporarily stop the leak, but there was never any permanent seal formed. Every time I would turn on the spa/hot tub jets; the temporary seal would get dislodged and the small leak would resume. This product may work better for a pool if the water flow is very sedentary, but it was utterly useless and nothing but a waste of money for a spa/hot tub with high pressure water flowing through tubing to jets. At the end of the day, the only permanent solution remedy I found involved the liberal application of marine epoxy, combined with an application of liquid plastic/silicon (made by fixaleak).

Wow, it works!
Worked for our hot tube and pool! Our in the ground hot tube suddenly developed a leak, and would lose 4 inches/day (about 5 minutes to refill with a hose). I didn't know what to do because getting to the pipes would mean ripping up the floor/tile in the pool room. I used half a bottle and it completely fixed the leak. This prompted me to try our indoor pool, which with a cover, was losing almost an inch a day (40 minutes to refill/week). I used one bottle, and it slowed the leak. Added the other half from the hot tub bottle, and it looks like it fixed that leak as well. The only negative is that you have to remove the cartridge filters before use, then put the filters back in after the leak is fixed to trap all the sealant, and then remove the filters again to clean them and wash out the sealer. However, the bit of work is definitely worth it, and the cost is less than having a pool repairman come out just for an estimate. Their website has more detailed instructions than what you see on the bottle, and worth reading. I did have the pool at 88 degrees, and the hot tub was probably hotter (now I can't remember). I am so happy this worked!!!

Works but requires patience
Our 400 gallon hot tub was leaking at a rate of about 1 to 2 inches per day from somewhere underneath that we could not access. After using this sealer, the leaking has stopped. I removed both filters prior to adding. Turned both jets to low and added 8 oz and the leaking stopped almost immediately. Then let the jets run for about 6 more hours. After that I waited 48 hours for the sealer to cure. Then drained all of the water and cleaned the tub. Added back in the water and noticed there was a leak again but much smaller than before, about less than 1/4" per day. This time I added 4 oz, the leak stopped almost immediately and I let the jets run at low for about 6 hours. I let it cure for 48 hours, then used a shop vac to remove sealer accumulating near the seat indentations. Repeated, this type of cleaning for about a week. Then drained the tub and this time I only did a light cleaning. After refilling the tub there was no leak this time. There was still some sealer accumulating so used a shop vac to remove for a few more days, then reinserted the filters. Waited about a week and then cleaned the filters as normal. So far it has been over two months and no leaking. We have been able to use our tub normally with no issues. It will be interesting to see how long this sealer holds.

Magic!
Magic! No other explanation for this product. I was losing over 4000 gallons per month from my 36,000 gallon in-ground pool after maintenance on the entry steps. I used 2 bottles at once and followed the instructions. I was very skeptical for the first 2 days but, after letting it set... it is now holding water! No leaks! I'm so impressed. I hope it lasts.
