really helpful.
This book has validated feelings that I could not put into words for such a long time. It’s really nice to be seen and completely understood, for once. Thank you!

Very helpful and informative!
This is the best book I’ve read on this subject to date. It’s the most comprehensive and detailed, with interactive sections that are very helpful for this troubling topic. Highlights recommend..

So very helpful.
This was a hard book because of just how accurate it was in describing our reality. I thought I would finish it quickly but had to read through it slowly and just process and even take breaks. This has been the most helpful book so far and has provided the clearest and fullest picture. If you are struggling as a daughter and have some clues as to what is the issue, read this book. It will answer so many questions and help you learn to begin to heal.

Some Things to Consider in Your Adult Life!
I've read nearly all the main book on narcissistic mothers and this one had some good points but I did not generally relate to most of it for some reason. The mothers I know are not this type of narcissist. The book I related to more was Narcissistic Mothers by Linda Hill so you may want to read that too. This book has some coping skills which are good. There is a section on boundaries. The part about whether your mother is a grandiose or vulnerable narcissist is helpful to figure out for further reading. So if your mother is/was more destructive this book may interest you. If your mother just brags and is annoying this book is far more complex and deals with much more damaging issues.~The Rebecca Review

You might have a good reason to buy this book
If you were raised by a narcissist mother, this book needs to be under your pillow. Because it can make you cry like a child. Don’t get me wrong - you really need this. In order to fix something, you need to admit and accept that something is wrong. And it’s not you. This book talks to you like a friend, a truthful and kind friend, that will tell you the truth that you need to know for only one purpose: healing. This is what this book is about, healing. I strongly recommend.

There are better books on this subject
Some of the book was validating but the advice on how to deal with a narcissistic mother is lacking. And what is included directly contradicts other (better) books on the subject. Such as letting the other person know you want to have a conversation and expressing your thoughts and feelings. I would recommend Stop Caretaking the Borderline or Narcissist by Margalis Fjelstad if you want to learn how to actually deal and communicate with narcissists. You will learn in Stop Caretaking the Borderline or Narcissist that there is no reasoning with a narcissist and you should not try to converse or reason with them because they are not rational. You simply set your boundaries and do it, you do not need a conversation (which almost always leads to another outburst from the narcissist) or their approval to take care of yourself. If you just want validation and not much else, this book is ok, but not great.

Amazing book
Hit close to home. I saw a lot of traits, behaviors, and scenarios that were very similar to the childhood I was raised in. I recommend this book to anyone who struggles with a narcissistic parent or a parent parent who demonstrates narcissistic type behaviors. Particularly daughters.
