Effective solution to a problem
So, let me lead with saying I have no idea what this was actually intended for by the manufacturer. All I know is I needed a 4 inch "nominal" diameter object to connect from the intake of a 1997 F250 7.3L to a NAPA 6637 filter because I leaned too hard on the stock intake box and broke the plastic (thereby ruining that whole "seal" thing that supposed to happen to prevent dust from getting sucked into the engine.) I visited the hardware store first and came up with a few mediocre solutions with PVC fittings that would... work... then saw this. For less money, this solves the problem by actually fitting (OD of the truck's fittings was about 4 1/4, ID about 3 7/8 - this fits in the ID with a little bit of give that you can clamp down on with a 4" hose clamp on either end). Again, don't know what this thing was SUPPOSED to be fore, but it sure does do a great job as a cheap intake pipe for my truck :-)

Great value, but slightly small diameter for "4-inch"
It's perfect for connecting a 6637 type air filter on an early-99 Ford 7.3 Powerstroke, given the slight angle/turn required, but you do have to crank down a little on your clamps since the outer diameter isn't quite 4", but more like 3.95 or something. As long as you're careful with the clamps (so as not to strip the worm gear), or have a little beefier clamp on the filter side, you're good.

Good quality but small on diameter
The quality of the plastic is high...nearly indestructible. The diameters are on the small side. If using the green sewer pipe, be prepared to use a couple of layers of duct tape to add some thickness because there is a HUGE gap between the pipe and this product. I had some other fittings from a box store that fit much better. The smaller diameter was the only disappointing feature because the selection and quality are awesome.

DOES NOT FIT "SHOP VAC" HOSES
I'm not sure how they got away from the industry standard, but this 45° connection is useless. It's the exact same diameter as the ends of my Shop Vac hose. Which means they meet, but do not connect. What a waste!

Works great
I bought a bunch of powertec attachments to go with my dust collection system. My first round I used PVC tubing and it fit great. When I redid it and upgraded the system to work with 26 gauge duct they fit really well also.

Didn't fit
This fitting does not work with my shop vac or any of my 2-1/2" dust collections. Waste of money.

Doesn't work for shop vac elbow
I needed a 2 1/2" 45 degree elbow to connect to my shop vac to get underneath some warehouse racks. This won't fit to anything I have - this is basically a 45 degree PVC elbow that you can buy for less at Home Depot.

Takes kinks out of my dust collection system
I wanted to make this system as free flowing as I could. This 45 takes care of any links and works well.

Oddly sized for vacuum fittings
I wanted to use this to redirect a 2 1/2 dust collector fitting downward from my joiner. It does not fit a standard male or female vacuum fitting. I had to use a rubber coupling on my existing female connector and grind down my existing male connector to fit this fitting's female port. Not a big deal if you have the equipment for machining parts but will probably frustrate many.
