The stone and sand used in this large necklace were collected directly from Lake Michigan by the artist, and set in a 2-inch x 1 1/8-inch plated pendant tray on a 22-inch nickel-free chain. Care was taken to showcase the materials as they appear when found. This pendant has been glazed to show the detail in the Petoskey stone, and to make the piece appear wet, as if waves were lapping over it. The Petoskey stone is Michigan's state stone, and the remnants of an ancient hexagonal coral. Please note that for these pendants, each stone is unique. Variations in stone pattern, shape, and color are common, although the pendants share the same basic design.
