Interesting and thoughtful
Jill Dodd describes how she escaped an abusive childhood home to become a successful Paris model. But this isn't just a rags-to-riches story: her success came at a price as she traded one difficult situation for another. She's young, gorgeous, and desperate; the men she encounters are rich, powerful, and corrupt. Sexual abuse is disturbingly commonplace, but friendship and grace exist here too. Ms. Dodd explores how her inner strength and spirituality helped her navigate her career and relationships. Rather than providing The Answer she writes about the journey. Although most Americans won't face the extreme circumstances the author did, her writing will resonate with anyone searching for fulfillment.

This was a poorly written book, but a page turner in the way you want to watch a train wreck taking place. I wanted to see what silly things she would do next. When I read that she was a Roxy founder, I was hoping to hear more about your experiences as a business woman but most of the book focuses on her relationship with the arab arms dealer. The strange spiritual awakening in the end seemed kind of convenient.

Lively, provocative and impish!
Jill Dodd's story is lively, provocative, informative, and impish. I read it with the greatest relish, and recommend The Currency of Love to all who love an entertaining book despite the sadness of Jill's early life; however, she overcame all obstacles, developing into a young woman who lived life to the fullest.

Enjoyed!
I read about this model/business owner online and had to know more of her back story as the mistress of a rich Arab in the 1980s. Wow! I could not put it down!

Pleasant surprise! Insightful
I was pleasantly surprised by this book! Well written, it's a coming of age book describing a soul's journey from the fake temptations of life, to a deeper, richer life. Perhaps experience is the only teacher to convey true wisdom, but everything has a price. And Jill paid the price.

A gripping true story that reads like fiction!
This well-written memoir transplants you to another time and placeāone that most Westerners don't even know exists. The story is filled with exotic, shocking, and disturbing details about life in the international fast laneexperienced first-hand by former international model Jill Dodd. Nice woman, enjoyed the book but a little brief!
Would have liked more content re her time with AK, seemed a very brief affair. Maybe she's scared to tell too much?

Simply fascinating
As a former model myself I was interested to read Jill's story. I was amazed at her honesty and the raw power of her narrative. Most young girls make mistakes and get swept into situations they could not have foreseen. In the fashion industry, as a model, these choices can be pretty life changing. Jill owns all her decisions and yet you can see how forces were at work behind the scenes, pushing her forward. The book is riveting and gives a great glimpse into a world few see or understand. And in this day of #metoo, Jill's story has lessons to share. Happy I bought the book and will be rereading it. Thank you for sharing your story Jill.
