The Measure of a Man
Great stories of Smoke Jensen. Enjoyed some of the humor. Lots of history of Smoke and his background. The second book was full of action and the love and respect of his wife Sally and to save a town from two big outlaws with lots of gunfighters. The good of the town fought to the very end to save their town.

Over the top
I've read several of Johnstone's westerns and generally enjoy them. But this one (2 books actually) was way, way over the top. I expected Smoke to pull out his cape and skin-tight blue suit at any moment. He took on hundreds of bad guys (men that were pure and only evil with no real dimensions) at a time and easily handled them all. This was just garbage story telling. I'll think twice before I buy his next book.

Too much Smoke
Pretty far fetched story, with Smoke killing hundreds of men and barely getting a scratch. But it was an entertaining western saga.
