Use it everyday.

I had used it for about a year, no major issues. My only issue with the design is the length of the grounding cable, just a bit short for what I usually need it for, but I've been able to make it work with an extra wire. The only real problem I came across was when I had made the mistake of trying to apply power or ground to a wire when it had the other already active. User error, really. But it was when I kept doing it when I had to apply one of the two before making contact, like in a tight space. It would normally shut down and restart if you made a mistake, like normal. But I had done it quite a few times in a row and it had shut down completely. Few days later, it starting working again, but sometimes when you power it, it doesn't show or do anything on the screen but a blank background. Again, user error caused it. But other than that, having it as a mobile mechanic has saved me so much time, being able to see what is actually happening. I only have the KM10, but I honestly might upgrade to see what I can use the nicer model for. It was well worth the price.

I'm writing this with only one week of use-so take that with a grain of salt. This unit, while not being what one would consider commercial grade is an amazing little probe. The power leads, without which the unit doesn't work, is super long and had both cigarette lighter and big (light weight) alligator clips attachments. It is fairly accurate in testing component resistance and detects fair value and polarity of diode (and can be used to check capacitors health in resistance mode, if you know how). It feels good in the hand, has a nice sharp pointed removable probe (that fits snugly into the housing when not in use) for testing small surfaces like fuse test points etc. It comes in a case with molded hinges and lock tabs on molded hinge points. Excellent to have as a back-up secondary quick check instrument for emergency diagnosis, on even as a flashlight, since it has 20' leads and medium bright lights that are always on while the unit is plugged in.

a multimeter is nice and has it's place. if you don't have one of these and do any automotive work, buy it.

Great tool easy to use

My first review because I'm impressed. DC voltage range 0-65V. Works with 6v, 12v, 24v systems. In A/C mode, the simple waveform screen will show an acceptable 5Khz (or less) square wave, above that the corners will round, 10Khz max for sine wave; so its good for quick test of crank & cam sensors and injector pulses during crank only. Also get speaker sound of the A/C signal which can be very helpful. Should work with digital MAF, I don't have one to test. Surprisingly the manual is quite clear and informative. Manual states auto circuit breaker is 10A with 15 second recovery time. They recommend you trip the breaker to probe computer wires (can't apply 12V, but all other functions still work), but this is not reliable. Use on computer leads at your own risk. Don't bump that rocker switch and apply 12v to the computer! Also impressed by the diode test which measures the forward voltage using a 3v source.

Great tool. I have had to use it a couple of times. In both times it helped find the cause to the problem quicker than using a multimeter. I really do like the ability to apply ground and +12v with the probe. It's those features that speed up diagnostics . The lead is long. This was great when testing trailer lights but, gets in the way when not needed.

Packaging The tester came in a cardboard outer sleeve. Once removed you will find a hard-plastic case that holds the tester unit and the accessories. Upon opening the box you notice how well the unit is fitted in there with a nice thick foam insert in the lid. First Look Looking at the unit you see how well it looks and some of the nice design features it has with the colour screen and the removable probe along with a massive 20ft extension cable. It has all the connections you need, Direct from the battery or from the included lighter socket adapter. First use The unit was powered by the lighter socket and booted up into the menu in a second. You are presented with a nice clear colour display and 4 menu options at the top of the screen. The unit has 2 led's on the top of it giving you some light to work with. You select the menu option with the round menu button on the device. The menu runs through the following settings DC Voltage, AC Voltage, Resistance and Diode Just press the menu button until you see the correct screen. With the probe in DC Voltage it allows you to read the DC Voltage of a circuit The AC Voltage does the same but for AC Voltage The Resistance mode enables you to check the resistance between the tip and the Aux ground Lead. In this mode you can check the voltage drop from positive to negative on a diode I used the probe to check a few headlight bulbs I had lying around not knowing if they were out or not. I connected the Aux cable from the probe to the negative on the bulb and touched the tip to the positive, this allowed me to check the circuit. The screen went green confirming no issues with the continuity of the bulb I then pushed forward on the toggle switch and applied voltage to the bulb lighting it up. A quick two-minute task is completed with the tester saving a lot of time and effort. My Thoughts, All in all a solid bit of kit with easy to use features and a easy to use menu. A Good design aesthetic and all stored in hard plastic case. a must for anyone who works on electrical systems.

Very good packaging Tool came with a plastic case. I found this tester very convenient for a few applications that weren't readily usable with a regular multimeter. Being able to activate electrical components remotely on my Jeep was extremely cool. I like that it had such a long cord included. I can see where that will be useful Love this tool.
