The Big Awesome Book of Hand & Chalk Lettering Paperback – July 11, 2017

I love Dina's teaching style, and this book delivers. She breaks things down logically and clearly into manageable steps, without talking down to her readers. The examples are fun, the book is visually entertaining, everything is well laid out, and there's a ton of practical info packed in here! Great reference for hobbyists, beginning letterers, and illustrators looking to improve their lettering game.

This book covers the basics of hand lettering, including tools, tips, techniques, materials, and mediums, using a variety of "hands" or styles of letters. With clearly written step by step instructions and illustrations, the reader will learn how to create and complete various projects. Also a good "refresher" for experienced calligraphers and/or letterers, as well! Similar to, but more informative and easier to understand, than the Speedball Handbook. I was quite happy to add this eBook to my collection of printed lettering books! A bargain at any price!

Very helpful book! Easy to ready. I give it 4 stars because it slows down for something and blasts through way too fast on others.

This book is chalk full (pun intended) of lettering examples that can be used for any lettering projects. I’ve been an artist for awhile and I still learned many tips and tricks. The book has lettering practice pages, examples, projects and much more. Since I wasn’t planning on using the book for chalk lettering I was hesitant, but you can use all the examples for whatever type of lettering you want to try.

I have purchased several hand lettering guides and this one is definitely a great addition to my collection. The book is chock full of useful tips and creative ideas but what I love most about it is the "Here's How" section. For each of the 15 lettering styles (A-Z and #s), it gives detailed instructions on how to form some of the basic letters and numbers for each style.It should be noted that most of the alphabets are shown only in uppercase, four are only in lowercase and only one (Monoweight Script) is shown in both upper- and lowercase.

Perfect very detailed and is easy to use it’s great for beginners or advanced professionals has fun projects and lots of space to practice !

Half the book is about supplies you need and fonts. Not as inspirational as I had hoped.

As someone who loves hand-lettering, I appreciate the comprehensiveness and gorgeous design of this book. It also contains a number of sample alphabets and loads of hands-on practical tips for creating standout lettering projects. Well worth the price and actually a better value than many more expensive books on the subject.

Easy to read and understand. There are different projects you can try to increase your confidence.

Me encantó, es mucho más de lo que esperaba. Tiene mucha información, tips, notas, y hasta ejercicios para hacer con las manos. Si estás iniciando en el arte del lettering definitivamente este libro es para ti, lo compre para regalo pero creo que comprare otro para mí.
