Studied with this book for 6-8 weeks before taking my CPC exam. Full of practical information - easy to understand. I passed the test on the first try so I feel like this was a good purchase.

I'm using to take the exam.

I got this book mostly for the practice exam section. However, these questions really don't model the format of questions on the CPC exam. I tried to get through it but just stopped using the book and went back to the practice tests on the actual AAPC website. They are much better. The rest of this book is just mostly fluff and I'm disappointed I spent so much on it. Also, it is not up to date with the 2023 CPT, despite having that on the cover. Good news though, I passed my certification exam, thanks to all of the other resources I used. NOT this book, I don't recommend it.

Does not walk to the steps to how the answer was optioned. What part of the index you go to to get the answer.

The book will help you with study tips and extra suggestions for passing the exam. This book will give you a sense of what is on the exam. It has sample questions so that you can code and work on selecting the correct answers. The book however does not go into how to read an operative note or abstract information so the book is limited in that way. This book also does not really review for understanding of anatomy and physiology.
