No FM Capability
I just received this radio (Baofeng GMRS-9R via Abbree) today. Currently charging the batteries, as I intend to keep it. May update this review in the future after some hours of use but I just wanted to immediately note that the FM function is not receiving any local radio stations. This is the second time this has happened to me in the last week. I ordered a different Baofeng (UV-9G) from another reputable source but it also has no FM radio reception. That's not why I bought the radios and it's not a huge deal breaker for me. At the low price, I can deal.. but... 2 out of 2 is certainly a bit of a bummer. I understand this is due to the chip shortage and "supply chain issues" plaguing every corner of every industry lately. Maybe if I decide to buy another 'Feng someday, it'll have all of the features it's supposed to have available and functioning properly. Just be warned, if you want the local classic rock, some soothing jazz or the modern "country" music station... you may not hear them through these little guys.
