Nicely detailed toy.
Saw this in a local store and thought it was pretty nice. I'm always on the lookout for a detailed inexpensive Millennium Falcon to display. Forty-plus dollars was a bit more than I was willing to pay. However, after Christmas I was able to pick it up on Amazon for twenty-five. Done! Toy is nicely detailed and has several moving parts (removable back, opening cockpit, moving cannon, hidden storage compartment, landing gear that can be lowered and an opening ramp). Some of these things fit together pretty tight, have to be cautious when manipulating. There are also four tiny figures (Han, Chewbacca, Leia and Obi-Wan). Sound effects and light up engines also good. Engine sounds function via accelerometer, so it makes sounds as you move it. A kid who will actually be playing with it will probably love that. Other sound is the cannon firing. Does not come with batteries. This is a toy, not a "replica" so the proportions are not exact. That said, it still looks really good and only a real Star Wars fan would probably notice. I think it will look pretty good on my shelf.

Arguably the best Falcon toy ever made.
This JazWares version of the Millennium Falcon is arguably the best version ever produced, both in playability AND in being an accurate version of the Falcon. As for accuracy, it pretty darn close. I'm sure it's not exact enough for all the Falcon experts who know each and every greeblie that is on the Falcon, but it captures all the main ones REALLY well. The only shortcoming is the cockpit is a little big (but nowhere NEAR as bad as the old Kenner one). I'm guessing this was done to fit the figures (4 seats!), versus making it accurately sized, which then makes the rest of the Falcon maybe 10% larger (which I would have LOVED), but also driving up the cost. The top gun turret is off a bit (for playability). The hull is missing the blast holes near the dish, as well as any other damage (like the gouge underneath the rear). The grime/weathering was a tad overdone on mine, and the overall color is more gray than the off-white it should be. These are all nitpicks. And I'm sure the talented fans are already making mods (maybe keep an eye on Shapeways for any available) to make it more accurate to one of the MANY Falcons used to make the films. But as it is, it still a beaut to display. As for the toy aspect, there's lots of playability here. I thought the old MicroMachines Falcon playset had the most playability (but also a VERY inaccurate Falcon exterior). But I think this has it beat: it definitely beats it in detail and accuracy. The back of the hull-top removes (and even has detail underneath: another playing surface!) to reveal a large area for figure play. While not accurate to the "real" Falcon interior (which most know wouldn't even fit IN the Falcon), it offers some great areas for play. The Dejaric Table and couch is there as well as the hidden smuggling area, along with a circling corridor with an engine room and a hold. The boarding ramps even opens. The turret inaccurately swivels and can be removed (not sure of the logic behind this one though). All this has great detail, making it more like the real Falcon interior. Even the insides of the landing gear has detail! As for nitpicking, I went on about all the detail: they left out a lot of detail on the interior sidewalls. For instance, the corridor to the cockpit (which would've been nice to have it open/revealed) could at least have an airlock/door imprinted on it. Or add some detail to the turret walls (they weathered mine, which are perfectly smooth making it look like something spilled on it) or the sides of the boarding ramp. Again, very nitpicky here. But with the great detail on the floors, it really makes the lack of detail on the walls that much more obvious. Also, the engines light up and there are various sounds (batteries NOT included). Not really my thing (and the sounds don't "sound" much like the Falcon to me), but kids probably love it. I did find it weird that the figures included (highly detailed and painted, considering the size) had Leia and Ben: neither actually appear together on film on the Falcon. Ben and Luke, or Leia and Luke or 3PO would seem a better choice. Again, very nitpicky. Maybe Jazwares will offer different figure sets (Stormtrooper set, Mos Eisley set, etc.) to expand playability. Given that I picked this up here for the lower twenties, that's an awesome value whether you're a fan, collector, or kid, or you want to display it, play with it, or both. The Falcon has always been my favorite ship, not just in Star Wars, but all of sci-fi. And this is a fine representative of it.

A Good Falcon, worth getting, but could use some improvements
Over all this is a nice toy, and I like it. The molded detail is very nicely done, and I like that Jazz Wares went to the trouble of making sure that all the essential features are there. Four seat cockpit. Working boarding ramp. Correct five position landing gear. Figure compatible turret. Crash couch with gaming table. Cargo area. Under floor smugglers hatch. Four included figures. Light up engines with sound. All great. But there are a few areas that feel a bit under done. The interior playset feels small and cramped compared with the size of the toy, with not much for the figures to "do". The turret is very difficult to get a figure in and out of (especially for someone with adult sized hands) and the over sized turret window sort of ruins the otherwise great proportions of the ship. The clear parts (windows) are foggy so you can barely see the figures inside anyway. The cargo in the cargo bay is molded to the floor so it's nice detail but adds little play value. The electronic features work pretty well. The motion sensitive sounds are a nice touch, as there is a separate sound for left, right, climb, dive, and rolling motions. But most of the sounds are so similar that it's hard to tell them apart. (if you hear a slight rattle inside the toy, it's the mechanical "accelerometer" like the the later Hasbro Falcons). I could honestly do without the 'swooping sounds' but they are a nice touch for kids and the "hidden" hyperspace sounds is great (press and hold button 1 for three seconds). Engine lights are bright and evenly lit and time out after 30 seconds if the toy is not moved. My biggest gripe is that while the painted on details are nicely done (red panels and airbrushed exhaust marks) the wash they used to 'weather' the ship looks hastily and unevenly applied. It's great that Jazz Wares tried to weather the ship (like it's larger Hasbro counterparts) but there are several areas on my example that look like the was was slopped on and never wiped off so there are places where the black paint pooled in a very unrealistic way. Also the top cover (upper hull), main body, and cockpit were clearly weathered separately and don't match. If this were a cheaper toy, I might not mind and just be grateful that any effort to weather it was made at all, but for $45usd for a small toy I was hoping it would be a bit better. If you get this toy, you definitely will not be sorry! It's better then the old Action Fleet Millennium Falcon in almost ever way! But you may question why the price was quite so steep...
