This is how I roll from meow on…
I inserted a 12 TB drive spinning at 7200 RPMs and it is so quiet! This is my preferred method for a drive attachment from meow on…

Exactly what I needed!
Every time I get a new computer, I pull the HDD out of the old one and put it in an enclosure, not just for security reasons, but to use for additional storage. If you look at the included picture, it illustrates that I still have a 3.5" HDD (that I think I'll transferred and retire) that can be compared to this wonderful enclosure for a recent SSD of the same capacity.Admittedly, it did not work when I first plugged it in; got some weird error messages. But after rebooting the new laptop, it hasn't had any issues recognizing and accessing the former laptop's SSD. I only wish I had bought it sooner. Getting the new computer to transfer from the old, while different from the pains of the past, was just as painful. It's MUCH better to just yank the SSD into and enclosure, and then choose your files to transfer (assuming you don't need ancient apps and clients like I had). After that, you have an awesome storage or backup device that fits in a pocket or purse rather than luggage

Avoiding the “no media” problem
It’s best to mount the drive in the dock while still unconnected from the computer. Allow the SAS drive to boot up perhaps a minute next connected to computer this will avoid a “no media“ problem.

Don't Waste Your Money
Don't waste your money. The SAS to USB interface is extremely buggy. I tried 10 different, verified working, SAS drives, and only 3 of them were recognized. When connected to an HBA, all drives functioned normally.

Does NOT hot swap, but does work.
Ok so dispite what other reviews say, yes this SAS dock does work. That said, if you are trying to work with multiple SAS HDD at once head my words. You have to completely power down the dock, swap the drive, then power it back on for the next drive to be properly detected and function. This dock does NOT hot swap while powered on.

2.5" & 3.5" SAS drives can now be properly cleaned
Old SAS drives were always being sent to a 3rd party to be wiped. Now we can do it ourselves before disposal and ensure that the data is fully wiped.CAUTION:15K drives can get a bit hot when doing a large amount of read/write activity. So ensure you have plenty of ventilation during these times.
