Mine lasted 3 1/2 years. Handle broke today. Trying to glue it but not gonna work so will buy another. The price has increased $3. The storm door is used A LOT!!

I've built several screen doors for out home and a couple of friends homes. Normally buy parts from HD but since I was ordering a soft door closer from Amazon I figured I would just get one from here as well. Built the screen door and installed it with little to no difficulty. Adjusted everything and it worked fine. Closer left a little bit to be desired but not bad overall. A couple of hours later when I went to exit and depressed the inside latch the assembly broke apart. I picked up the parts and found the actual spring-loaded latch had broken off. Contacted Amazon but only option I had was to call manufacturer. Called them and explained and they said contact Amazon. Explained what Amazon had said and the rep started telling me I was going to have to take pictures, write detailed explanation of what happened, etc. It's a cheap 7 dollar part and I just wanted to get it replaced. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T GET THIS POS. I just went down to Home Depot and paid 10 bucks for a unit a little bit better than this one.UPDATE:Bought another one since is was cheap and less of a headache than trying to get this thing replaced. Also a piece of junk. Same exact thing happened. Plastic push button actuator pin in handle keeps deflecting off to the side and binding on inner latch. Makes the latch bind and not function. Had to basically jam my knife inbetween the jam and the screen door to open it. Then it broke. What a waste of money.

Fit My screen door, perfectly. You will need to cut a small piece of the plastic stem, to make the latch work correctly. I wish the outside button piece wasn't plastic. Or maybe it was reinforced better. My original handle, the button end piece broke off. Had to get a new one.....

So far it is working as expected: was a very easy install. Fits my existing screen/storm door (its an older, lightweight one.) The only thing I would reconsider is maybe purchasing the locking one with the key.

Needle a new knob for a teen door. This was easy to install and fit perfectly. Great value for the money.

This screen door latch kit is inexpensive but not the best quality. The rod in the center is made with plastic and the unit I got had a defective inner latch that was jammed and wouldn't move so I had to return it. At least Amazon has a convenient return process.

So your screen door handle broke and you're looking for a replacement, try this handle because it too is a broken piece of junk. :)The two sides don't accept one another and the push button gets stuck long before the spring is able to push it back into place to be pushed again. The screws you're given get stripped immediately from using just a hand screwdriver so as a final **** you, you have to struggle to get the new broken screeen door handle off your door or leave it on as a screen door decoration, reminding you that if you buy cheap these days you're given garbage.
