Whilst researching how much a new thermostatic valve was going to be for my old shower, I discovered this Solepearl shower was only slightly dearer than buying the valve on its own. After measuring the distance between the inlets (150mm) I decided to take a punt on it and I'm so glad I did! I'm not a plumber, but I found it really easy to fit. I just switched the water off, removed the old one and the new one slotted straight onto the old fittings. I just added a bit of fresh ptfe tape. 90 minutes after starting the job I was in the shower! Apart from the separate shower head, the entire thing is made of metal and not cheap chrome coloured plastic. It looks fantastic and the controls are really easy to use and the temperature control is easy to adjust. I would highly recommend this shower, both in terms of looks and functionality but also for ease of fitting. You also don't have to buy any extras to fit it apart from a bit of PTFE tape.

I wanted to purchase a matt black all-in-one shower as chrome has a tendency to show water marks and calcium quite well. I had struggled to find one that matched my criteria until I found this one. I have always preferred a square rainfall head so this fit perfectly. I wanted to fit this myself and the instructions had been absolutely great. It had been a nice surprise to use the adjustable telescopic pole that hold the shower head, this makes it perfect to the majority of homes. The square adjustable temprature and water outlet had been another criteria that this product had ticked off, it allows easy of adjustment even with shampoo on your hands! (I learnt the hard way with round handles) I have used this product for a few months, I have added water filters to both the shower heads to improve the products longevity as I have hard water.

Shower looked great when it came out of the box. Quality of items looked good at first glance. We have just fitted the shower and we have a constant drip from the thermostatic bar. We have tried to fix using ptfe tape, then plumbers putty. We have had a plumber out who can't fix it and has said it is a defective bar. As just over the 30 days since purchasing, there is no way to contact the seller to request a replacement so advice would be don't buy until you are fitting otherwise you could have a similar issue. I now need to buy a new unit so should have just bought a better more expensive unit to start with. They do say you get what you pay for!

I was skeptical at first before buying this. Sub £100 sounded like it would be cheap and nasty but I was pleasantly surprised. Installation was easy. Didn’t need the stepdowns so was a 1:1 fit the the existing. I would advise you use some silicone jell for the washers so they stay seated and aligned then you fit the thermostat as the washers have raised lines. All the fittings were easy to connect. Just make sure the main shower is screwed on tight. Usage wise I have come across a few niggles. The resting temperature seems way high, over 38c. Needs adjusting prior to actual use so you don’t scold yourself. There is a whining sound similar to some of those hotel showers. Not a deal breaker though. It’s not an instant on shower head. It takes a second of two to fully get going. It does instantly stop though, the main head doesn’t drip at all but the hand shower dead takes a few seconds to fully stop. The thermostat is not a cool one so it will be hot to the touch. It does mix the water well so no fluctuations in temperature. The shower head has four settings for your preferred usage. The handle does feel overly large with a slight light cheap plastic feeling to it. So far so good.

Can't fault the operation of the shower but the black coating is already coming of and rust is stating to appear so will now have to try and get a replacement

Firstly, one aspect of any product I purchase online is the manner in which the product has been packaged and I must commend the person / company who produced this excellent and good value product. The item arrived very carefully packaged, which to me says that the manufacturer has taken great care in ensuring that the product will arrive safely and in good working order. So well done to the person who took the time to package this product and I do hope your immediate manager recognises your dedication to quality. The product itself was very easy to fit as a replacement for an existing Bristan shower unit. Any person in Ireland wishing to fit one will not need to use the smaller pipe adapters as the fitting goes directly onto a half inch outlet pipe. Overall it's an excellent product, manufactured and packaged with care and easy to fit as a replacement shower unit. Excellent value as well.
