1/2" pedals that work well and won't break the bank.
These pedals were purchased to replace plastic pedals on a Mongoose(Pacific Cycle) dept store bike. 1/2" pedals come in one of two categories; cheap and plastic or expensive and alloy. These particular pedals combine the best of both worlds, cheap and alloy. These are great replacements for use on one-piece 'Ashtabula' cranks found on older bikes and dept store bikes. Don't expect $140 performance from $14 pedals, but you can improve on them. Like all cheap pedals(plastic or alloy) bearing preload is often too tight, and will not freely spin. This can be easily adjusted for better performance. *Only perform this modification if you or your mechanic is capable of such work, I take no responsibility for you or your mechanics actions.* Remove the plastic end cap, Remove the small lock nut, Remove the crush washer, Using a flathead screwdriver, or pick, loosen the second preload nut ~1/8 turn(there isn't room for a normal socket on the preload nut inside the pedal). Re-assemble as per factory and test. Pedal should spin freely with no slop/clunk. Verify the lock nut is properly installed wrench tight. If adjustment is too tight/loose, readjust/reassemble/retest until pedal rotates smoothly/freely. Pedals shall be installed onto cranks wrench tight. Recheck after ~100 miles for safe/correct operation. Pedal axles will NOT self tighten through use, they MUST be wrench tight before riding. TL;DR Good price for good alloy pedals that may be a bit tight but can be adjusted for smooth rotation. If you need 9/16" pedals, I would suggest looking at proper 9/16" pedals. Adapters work fine but the pedals are really old school(BMX/Cruiser) loose ball bearing type for 1/2" tapped cranks.

Excellent pedals.
We have a youth Mongoose BMX that came stock with plastic pedals. After 6 months one of the stock pedals broke. I found these and they are a perfect upgrade to the stock pedals. These seem to be made of an aluminum alloy material and have a larger platform for your feet with grip points on the pedals (both sides) so your shoes wonโt slip. Plus they are branded Mongoose so they look great too. The added benefit of reflectors provide greater visibility to the bike when riding at night. Then they go the extra mile of adding in thread size increase capability with your purchase if needed. A perfect set of pedals. I highly recommend these.

Seem sturdy and good quality
I like these. I'm glad they come with an adapter. As a note, for anyone who may be a newbie like me, the pedals and adapters are labeled R and L; pay attention to that. The R set tightens as normal (clockwise), the L set tightens counterclockwise, which makes sense I think but I hadn't considered that and spent maybe three frustrating minutes trying to get the L set together.
