Q: Does the dial actually turn?

The dial’s rotating stars, replaces the second hand. The disk rotates/spins at an interval of once per second. The red hand displays the date. Don’t think I saw it mention in this listing, the movement here a reliable Seiko one either the NH35 or NH36. The watch shows the moonphase as well, though not sure if it’s accurate. Can’t figure out how to set it, but it does change per day or so. In 30 days, the moonphase will be traveled one full clockwise revolution.

I bought it as a gift for a friend. When he wears it, it's not too loud for daily use. In my opinion.

Q: What is the size of the watch face?

It's a big one! never measured it but I guess it's a standard "men's" watch. I don't know why they attach a gender to it. Anyone can wear it. And I really love it, too. Who ever heard of a "day" hand? LOL
