Excellent "biography" - essential reading for (present and future) fans of the TVPs
As a P!O!P! connoisseur, I know some gems from the sixties to the present. The Television Personalities have always been and remain my favourite band. I'm not really a fan of musical biographies, but Benjamin Berton has managed to entertain me in the best possible way, precisely because he leaves the well-trodden paths of musical biographies. The book is very poignantly written with a lot of sensitivity. Despite Dan Treacy's fate, I had to smile at some points, laugh several times (mostly at anecdotes about Jowe Head), and was able to learn a lot more. The compulsory reading was of course accompanied by the respective albums on the time period of the descriptions. Many thanks to the author and translator! This is not the first book about The Television Personalities. I think the equally essential "Art For The Love Children" by Armin Müller, also mentioned in the epilogue, can be considered a book. JC Brouchard (see Biff Bang Pow!) only covered the years 1981 to 1984 in his book "Diary Of A Young Fan", which is also well worth reading. Both are available as free PDFs with a little research, the book by JC Brouchard is also still available as a book.
