First impressions = totally brilliant.
I have hair down to nearly my bra line.My hair has some curl when wet....holds a lot of water ...and then is poker straight when dry.I've spent 3 years growing my hair from a pixie crop and TBH am getting a bit bored of it long...so trying to find various styles.I've always loved curly hair but just cannot do it.I've tried straighteners.tongs.foam curlers, hot curlers, twizzlers and twirlers...everything and I just cannot do it.I don't know whether its my fault i.e. I can't do it well enough or my hair won't take it...or the products are just rubbish. This was my last go at curling and TBH I didnt even know it existed until I began to think someone must have made a straighten iron curl!!!! I remember my mum "crimping" my hair in the early 1980's - and I took the same approach to these, as my mum took back then. I didn't wash my hair and did it in small sections from the bottom up. I found it quite easy to use...it does get heavy...and it does get very hot.I'm a pro with my long hair and very expensive straighteners - but where I get my irons right up to my scalp and down,I did find this very hot for my scalp...start a bit further down!!! I watched a few online videos on how to use it and what the outcome should be...and saw a good tip about not "dragging" the hair down...rather more lifting it up as you get to the ends - and don't separate the hair until the hair is "cool". For a first timer, I think I managed it rather well...found the back a bit harder as I went on.I have a lot of hair and the back will need practice. I did like the effect more when I used smaller sections of hair...and some online videos suggested using hairspray on the section first, but I was a bit worried about doing that. Although I have a lot of hair and its long,it has got thinner at the ends and generally a day after washing,it can be quite lifeless. I found this gave it a bit of texture and a bit of "omph". I would say it gave a curl somewhere between crimping and beach curls.Almost like you had gone to bed with your hair in tiny plaits and took them out the next morning. I did find the effect lasted for 2-3 days - and as I say I found even when the "curl" had dropped,it still gave my hair a bit of something, which I liked. I've only had one go at this and already I can see,I will use it loads.I tend to go to the hairdressers if I have an an occasion to go to for a "big" blow-dry - and during the working week,I normally wear my hair up - but I will definitely be using these on weekends and when its time to do my own hair. Its the best process I've found so far for "curling".I love it.

My life is complete…..
I cannot praise this enough!! I’ve used god know how many different hair stylers over the years, some over £100, and I have to say this is the best for these sort of waves!!It heats up really quickly, has different heat settings, It’s super easy to use, works really well and easy peasy to useMy only regret is that I didn’t buy it years ago!!For all you gals who love the soft beach wave look, you need this!

It's... ok.
This product is ok. It's not what I was looking for, hence the lower rating, but if a 90s crimp is the look you are going for then this waver is perfect.I read the reviews before buying - some said it gave nice waves, others said it was more of a crimp. I didn't know what to believe, so I bought it to try myself (as the price is very reasonable, therefore wouldn't be too much of a waste if it didn't work). I can categorically state that this waver gives you a CRIMP, rather than a wave, albeit, a looser crimp than an actual crimper would give you. Some people might interpret this as being 'tight waves', which I guess in a way it is, but if it's waves you're looking, I'd recommend buying a larger waver. As for the product itself - it's very lightweight (good for general usage, as you're not having to hold a heavy appliance up in the air), however it does feel very fragile so, if you're anything like me, this is worrisome if you're prone to accidents!!It heats up well. I have very thick, fairly stubborn hair, and it crimped mine perfectly. Thing is, if you have even remotely frizzy hair, this appliance is not going to do you any favours. The minute I touched my hair that had been waved, it began to frizz and, because of the 'tight waves', I just looked like I had a bit of a frizzy crimp/perm. I put some mousse in it, which calmed down the frizz slightly, but it was still not a good look.I would recommend this product for people who have hair in perfect condition, like the models who usually demonstrate the product. That way, you will get very defined, frizz-free tight waves/crimps. It's a good look if you like a more boho/creative look, or if you are going to the beach, for example.I bought this in the hope that I could wave my hair for nights out - however the only night out I would use this on my hair would be if I was going to a fancy dress party and needed crimped hair for whatever reason. So, all in all, it's a decent product - it works, does its job... but if you want waves as opposed to a crimp, then I'd recommend looking elsewhere!
