Elastic, No Tie Shoe Laces for Running and Active Sports

I've tried a few different brands of elastic laces and these are my favorite by far. They are more hefty and sturdy, and the elastic has a good stretch to it. I especially like the cord holding system. It's easy to use and allows for adjustment without any fuss. When properly fitted, it allows me to put on and take off my sneakers without undoing the laces. The shoes stay put perfectly when worn, even when exercising. No complaints at all -- five stars.

I hate to tie shoes and will avoid buying shoes with ties if I can, however there are a couple of pairs in my closet that require shoe laces. These are simple to insert and adjust. I especially like the way they stretch to adjust to changes in my feet during a long day. Whenever I buy a new pair of sneakers or tennis shoes I buy a pair of these laces and immediately switch them for the originals. The ends of the laces have a nifty lock thing that is easy to slide under the laces to avoid flopping around and they make getting into and out of the shoes simple, quick, and easy. Adjusting tension across the top of my high arched foot makes the shoe very comfortable for long days on my feet.

Love these laces! They have held up well. They're strong enough that your shoes stay on, but give enough that you can slip on your shoes without having to loosen them. I do wear them a bit loose. Have high arches and it's nice to have laces that don't put pressure on the tops of my feet.

I ordered two pairs of these for some new shoes - a pair of Keens and and a pair of Merrells (both low hikers). The new no-tie laces work great and converted my shoes from regular lace-ups. I like being able to just slip the shoes on and go. They were easy to install and seem to be easy to adjust. I went on a longer hike with the Keens and the laces stayed tight. Hopefully they will hold up.

For you lazy (or efficient) people like me, this is a fabulous option for lacing up your athletic shoes. After removing the existing OEM laces, I took to youtube and searched for creative ways to lace up shoes. After all, if you're going to upgrade your laces, you might as well make it look amazing. After picking the lace design I liked, I went to work. On one hand, the elastic is a little harder to work with to get even tension - compared to traditional laces. But on the good side, after installed, they keep your foot in the shoe perfectly. The elastic lets you take off and put on the shoe without bothering with the laces while still maintaining a snug fit. PRO TIP: After installing laces, do not cut the excess lace yet. Wear the shoes a few times to give yourself the opportunity to fine-tine the lace tension at each point on the shoe. Then when you've got it adjusted perfectly, go ahead and cut the excess lace. Highly recommended.

If like other coach potatoes you don't like lacing your shoes every time you get vertical these certainly seem attractive. Rather than walking around the apartment with shoes, generally sneakers, untied, they become like loafers and you slip your laced shoes on and off. That's not quite the good news. The catch is you really have to wiggle these elastic laces on or have a shoe horn. So you are slowed down when making a bee line to the frig. But they do work for this pretty fast to vertical aspect. But the real plus, IMHO, is the general comfort. Something about the lack of flex in regular laces as you are walking and something about the stretch in these seems to translate into a big plus: they seem a lot more comfortable, secure, reliable, other adjectives as you are walking. If your feet ached with regular laces laced too tight, these may be the ticket to paradise. Too lose, too tight before now may be just right. I can't say the instructions were particularly wonderful, but any rocket scientist will be able to figure out the basic idea. You lace up regularly and then you use this spring loaded tightener, tighten, and then give yourself two inches or so post tightener and snip off the excess. Finally, to keep the bare ends from fraying and looking unsightly, put on the nifty end pieces: feed the lose, bare ends in and snap the Venus fly trap shut with a snap, tuck into the laces and you are off to the races!

I got these laces to replace some round ones on my Solomon shoes. The round laces were CONSTANTLY coming untied. These stretchy ones were appealing to me. My only gripe is the end cap connectors they send you. I did receive two, however, they are confusing. At first glance, it looks like they need to be "cut" on the thin plastic strips holding them together in order to break them apart. Evidently, they do not - just unsnap and do not cut. If you cut, you can't use them.

Why have I been tying my shoes all these years like a sucker? These things are brilliant. Easy to use, easy to install, work great. I may never go back to real laces again. The only thing here is the clips that cap off the laces after you cut them to size. They are sort of junk, and broke when trying to install them (both of them). I probably did something wrong, but who can tell? Anyway, it doesn't affect the operation at all. I just put some heat shrink over the ends and was off and walking in no time. Get these, they are great.

I bought these for myself and then bought it for my mom, and later for my pregnant wife. Easy to put on the shoes. It's been over a year and no signs of wear and tear. It's been really good for my mom who has trouble tying shoelaces because of her arthritis. It has been good for my wife who has trouble bending because of her pregnancy. Easy to put on the shoes and tighten the laces.
