Great genuine product

My medium sized short haired dog has the 2.5mm collar and the prongs would disconnect sometimes allowing her to get loose. Since I put this over her prong collar, it no longer comes apart and she and I stay safe.

This is overpriced. The product is just a strip of fabric with some Velcro. I had to cut mine in the center as I use a quick release attachment for the prong collar, but even if you didn’t it would be hard to put the collar on the dog without taking the cover off. After cutting I’m decently satisfied, but still mad I spent this much money on it. I guess it does what it’s intended to do, but makes life more complicated as-is. I wouldn’t buy again.

Herm Sprenger prong collar made in Germany is BEST brand for this product. I especially recommend this quick release feature. Used with care during training. Take care when purchasing this cover to order a length not too long.

I have the Herm Sprenger ultra plus prong collar in 2.25 mm 14in neck size for my dog. In order for the collar to fit him properly, I had to remove a single link. This 11.5 inch collar cover is now way too big for the collar I have and is the smallest size available. When I fastened it to my collar, the edges of the cover went up onto the chain. Because the velcro on the underside is at intervals all the way to the edge of this collar cover, it meant that the extra length then had to be velcroed around the chain. This interfered with the free movement of the chain and caused it to catch and remain tight to my dog's neck even without pressure being applied to the leash. Therefore, if you have to remove any prongs from the standard sizing of your collar in order to achieve proper fit (which is absolutely crucial when using a prong collar) these covers will not work for you unless you cut them. I ended up cutting about an inch off of mine which left a fraying unstitched edge on one side of it. Though the cover seems well made, the velcro very sturdy, stitching looks high quality, and it does the job of making the prong collar appear as though it is a regular martingale collar, it is really disappointing that more sizes aren't available.

I have tried every alternative on my dog but only the prong collar works. I have people complaining all the time that it’s wrong to make him wear it but there’s no alternative at this time. This covers the prong part pretty well, alleviating the nasty comments. The Velcro is a little difficult to manipulate but it seems like it’s holding up
