The box looks very nice, and the hardware is pretty good. The lid stays open, which is very nice. It arrives in a box, and for some reason has a gift bag inside the box. The key is in a small velvet bag inside.When it arrived, there was a problem with the lock. It was made or installed incorrectly, as the pin in the center was too low, and the key could only go in at a downward angle, and wouldn’t turn. However, I asked for a return, and received a new one promptly. This one seems to lock fine. I worry that it might not be entirely durable, but so far so good!I do wish it came with a spare key, though.

I saw this box and liked it alot, but after reading a few of the reviews regarding the problems around the key and lock I was a little put off. In the end I thought I would give it a go and hope for the best as it was what I was looking for. Well it arrived today and was early, and must say the wood looks amazing and very stylish...and the lock works! Every thing lines up, so maybe I'm lucky. The box came well packed the box itself is in a box containing a presentation paper bag and the key (only one) comes in a nice cloth bag. I'm very pleased with the box and delivery.

It's a lovely box but the interior of the lock is misaligned so the key is obstructed and cannot engage the lock. Looking at previous feedback, the seller must know this but keeps selling the item. The price should be reduced accordingly and the product description should make it clear that this item is known to have a defective lock. Even with a paid Prime membership, Amazon has lacklustre return options which either require me to travel 40 to 50 kilometers to return the item to a drop-off point, or I have to pay for a courier to return the item. The Amazon site interface is designed to make it difficult to reach anyone at Amazon to discuss the matter but the customer can eventually find the online 'chat' option. That leads to an unnecessarily protracted interaction with the Amazon representative, who - after much prompting - offers a minor concession to settle the matter. Not a great customer experience.
