I'd purchased a very similar version of this and someone had pressed very hard to get the HDMI cable into the slot. The screws were very small and didn't penetrate very far into the plastic. As a result they were pressed out.I got them back in place but the signal was not being passed through the adapter even when I took them out of the wall and connected directly through the insert without the cords within the walls.I ordered two of these to solve that issue and they worked great.

Exactly what I needed for a wall mount TV to hide the cords. I used 2 of them. One directly behind the TV and another down near the floor behind a cabinet shelf.

Using these wall plates created problems with the cables and equipment I am using. Whenever I had these wall plates installed I had problems with my PC and PS5. I initially thought the problem was the older NVIDIA GTX 1080 GPU I had, but I had plans to upgrade to an RTX 3090, and when I did upgrade, the problems were still here. I decided to move the PS5 to this area to test as well and encountered issues with the PS5 as well.PC (both with GTX 1080 or RTX 3090) issues, randomly every so often, as short as 5 and as long as 30 minutes, projector would re-scan signal and eventually come back.PS5 On black backgrounds would have white dots rapidly flashing all over the screen. This could sometimes be fixed by switching to a different input and back, but eventually the flashing white dots would re-appear again later (not necessarily during the same viewing).I purchased a different brand of wall plates which do not include a cable section as part of the wall plate. It is pretty much a single piece of solid plastic with female HDMI connectors on both sides and I do not have any issues with the new wall plates my cables and all equipment.I am connecting the PC and PS5 to a Denon AVR-X4700H receiver and the projector is an Optoma UHD55 model.

The fit between the included trim plate and Jack plate is extremely tight, and in my application I used this in a two gang box so I did not use the included trim plate. Because of the tighter than standard fit, it does not fit flush into the opening of my two gang trim plate/the shape isn’t quite standard (see photo). Also not a fan of having to screw the female HDMI jacks into the back of the piece - a bit cheap and prone to failure in my opinion. But, it does work, albeit not perfect looking.

I bought two of these so I could hide my HDMI cables in the wall so the cables going up to my tv that’s mounted in the wall wouldn’t be an eye sore. My cables are Zeskit 8Ks Maya that I bought here on Amazon. Zeskit cables are amazing and work great. These would cause my cables to not show up from my Apple TV to my tv. I tested all of my cables without these in place and the cables work fine. As soon as I put these in, intermittently I’d lose signal from my Apple TV to my tv. I don’t care enough to understand why these are doing that, so I’ll take them out for now and just have my cables being an “eye sore” until I can find some that work or Zeskit makes their own someday.
