Mated to the Monster
Mated to the Monster book one of three of the Sombra Demons series. When Shannon buys an old spell book from her favorite bookstore she thought it was just a scam for gullible people like her but also figured that attempting the Love spell wouldn’t hurt. Surprise doesn’t explain how she felt when a portal opened and something was coming through. Malphas minding his own business taking a bath when a portal sucked him in, when he finally materialized he found himself looking at his true mate but also realized he was stuck in a trap. I will leave the rest for you to read it for yourself so go and grab your copy today and happy reading.

better than I was expecting
Imm not gonna lie, went into this book with a certain expectation of what this book was gonna be about based off of the cover. I didn’t think I would like it but was I’m tired of seeing teasers about it on tiktok and wanted to see what the hype was about.I was pleasantly surprised. This was funny, wholesome in the way the MMC was instantly all about the FMC, it had spice and wasn’t completely over the top, it had a time and place and wasn’t spicy for spice sake, and it also left an interesting opening for future books with different fated mates.Shannon buys a grumpier randomly to jokingly cast a spell to find her true love, boy was she surprised when a portal opens up and a demon steps into her life claiming she is his mate.I loved the dual POV, especially at the beginning. Map’s POV had me laughing my ass off at the beginning. I really enjoyed how it would flip flop between them and explain the same situation but from their different POVs. I did not expect it to make me laugh like I did.Okay this author won me over and Iook forward to reading the next book from her.

Seeking shadows
Shannon is impulsive. When impulsive people get bored things happen. Like buying a book of spells. And then finding one in the book called true love. But she was expecting a human guy. What showed up was decidedly...not. Big, red, horned and glowing eyes. Nope. Definitely not human.Spoilers ahead. So this is definitely tropey and not very substantial. Shannon is fairly shallow and Malphas far too devoted to someone so narcissistic. There's apparently 2 stories that happened ahead of this one but one of them is going to be book 2. The 3rd book looks to be the actual sequel. You like Mal right off the bat. He's sweet, patient, wants only the best for his mate. Shannon is brusque, doesn't make good decisions, pretty much toys with Mal's affections. It's not endearing. His devotion means he can't be far from her. She wants to stay in the human realm. The teams he's trapped in shadow form anywhere outside their residence. If he shows himself or humans (outside of his mate) he goes to demon prison for life. He's immortal. So, if she's mugged he can't protect her. She has an accident, he can't do anything to help. No mention of birth control, so, hopefully she doesn't get pregnant while on Earth. I know this is fluff, and I actually needed fluffy after several bad book choices, but I forgot how unsubstantial fluff was. It isn't an awful novella. And if you're looking for a break between heavy reads it fits the bill. I just can't be satisfied with a FMC that seems so inconsiderate of her mate's feelings to leave him living a half life for decades because she likes her apartment. Even with the nosey neighbor who makes life for Mal even more difficult.

Good book!
Well this was a good read! The story was about a girl Shannon who accidentally read a book and summons a demon who is her fated mate! She is hesitant at first but as the days go by she becomes more attracted to him! So this is definitely a slow burn for me! With a few spicy scenes so the spice is at ay 2.5! Over all its a good read!!

Interesting
This is an interesting demon meets human mate book. I think I would consider this book a slow burning, not much action. It's an easy book to get through for an easy read

Meh. I had hoped for better.
The description of this book hooked me. I really loved the idea of a woman accidentally summoning a demon mate. Our MMC was fantastic, who wouldn’t want a Mal in their lives? But that’s about it when it comes to how much I enjoyed this story.***Spoilers****The FMC, Shannon, is just horrible. She’s completely unlikeable. I think I know where the author was trying to go with this character. I love me a strong, independent female lead. I like when the FMC, takes charge and tells fate to “shove it”. I even enjoy a good slow burn. Shannon, however, is just a brat. She doesn’t come off as strong or independent. She gives off the vibe of a woman that is just mad at everything in life and refuses to take accountability for her actions. Honestly, she does a spell (which she doesn’t understand anything about accept for “true love”) and when the spell works, she’s surprised and unhappy with the result. From there everything just goes down hill. She constantly runs away, gets pissed off at Mal at everything he does, and essentially blames HIM for the spell she cast. Just. No.I think there’s a fine line between being strong and knowing what you want, and being a person that’s just not self aware and coming off angry. Shannon was not for me. I couldn’t relate to her at all and personally her actions made no sense. I don’t think I’ll give the next book in the series a shot. It was all just very … meh.Good luck to the author, thank you for publishing your work and sharing your wold with us, best wishes.

2.5 stars
written clearly, but not my cup of tea. its very much instant love from the demon who remains 7ft with horns throughout the book, then the rest of the book is waiting for Shannon to fall for him. no angst, intrigue or depth to this book. i honestly didnt want to finish it but did manage to, but it didnt get any better. nothing wrong with how it was written or the flow, the content just wasnt something i enjoyed.

nope
Book started good, thought will be interesting read. But nope, it’s boring, very slow and I can’t get over the fact how ignorant main character is, no matter what he says she’s so slow to catch up, can’t believe she supposed to be 29 when she acts and thinks like she’s 18

Sweet but inevitable
This is a sweet but, fairly inevitable, story of true instalove. I do appreciate the author putting the little warning on the first page. It's nice to know what to expect. I will say, Mal is written beautifully, the exact type of male for the female gaze. If I could ever have a "book boyfriend" (as the kids say, lol) it would be him.

A super fun book
This was fun, steamy story with a feisty heroine and sweet leading man (umm monster). It would have been nice to see more of Sombra so I hope that there will be a twist and the heroine gets pulled in that world later in the series. All in all it was a satisfying read and the leading characters were likeable and relatable.

Hot little read
I enjoyed this story about Shannon and her summoned demon Mal. He has waited over a century to find his Mate and here she is, standing outside a salt circle. All Mal wants to do is love Shannon and bond with her but she isn't so sure. That's until she meets Any who has her very own shadow demon.
