You Need This Tool!
If you are reading this, you are already contemplating that you need this tool, and my review is to confirm that everyone should have at least one of these in their tool box. You can spend many frustrating hours trying to unscrew stuck screws with ordinary pliers, and end up “spinning wheels” and just tearing up the head of the stuck screw — or, you can buy this tool and turn out that stubborn screw in a few seconds. It is so easy to use, and useful to have, that you’ll wonder why you didn’t commit to getting one sooner. This version with the slip joint is excellent in that it allows the user to adjust the jaws for many different diameters on the screw / bolt heads to give a parallel (versus angled) grip on that stubborn, stuck screw. I really don’t understand the negative reviews claiming “soft metal” in these pliers ... from my tests and use, the steel appears to be heat-treated and very hard, durable, and strong. These give so much leverage and force that if the stubborn screw is one that you wish to keep, you might want to back off on the amount of pressure you apply toward closing the handles (or you may want to put a thin strip of plastic or rubber around the screw head) to prevent the jaws from cutting into the screw / bolt head. Otherwise, if you’re trying to loosen a rusted-in screw / bolt that you’re going to throw away, go ahead and apply full leverage / pressure and put the death grip and shark bite on that screw / bolt. Go easy (start slow) on the torquing / turning so you don’t break off the head of the screw / bolt — yes, this tool gives a great purchase / grip on even the thinnest depth screw / bolt head and maximizes your leverage / force for extraction (so take it easy as you learn to gauge and regulate your new grip strength equal to that of the Man of Steel / Superman©️). I got one of these to unstuck a clip screw on a very expensive pocket, multi-tool. The previous owner had used both cyocryanalate glue and a thread locker to try to tighten up what he perceived as a loose screw. Well, he practically welded that darn screw in place with all those adhesives, and still didn’t fix the loose pocket clip because he still didn’t cinch the screw down enough (due to it having a coin slot that allowed only so much torque to be applied before the coin would slip out of the slot). I tried for many days to unstuck that screw first with heat from a torch, then with all variety of pliers. When nothing worked, I called the maker of the pocket multi-tool and they said they could extract it for $40 but would damage the screw and that I would need to spend another $35 to pay for an entire clip replacement kit just for them to get the screw from it. Well, I decided to buy the VamPliers for about 40 bucks to see what I could do myself. To my amazement, the VamPliers turned out that practically welded in place screw in just seconds - as easy as turning on / off a water faucet. The VamPliers did put vertical bite marks around the sides of the screw head, but I was able to “buff” those out by clamping the screw shaft into a drill and spinning it for a few seconds against grit paper. Mission accomplished and no screws were killed (i.e. I was able to restore and save the original screw) with MANY THANKS to the VamPliers! Get one, you will wonder why you haven’t sooner.

Right tool for difficult jobs
I was immediately impressed with concept and quality of the VamPliers but I held off reviewing them until I had actually used them. I was in a very tight crawlspace and had to remove a plywood panel that, true to form, the previous owner affixed with a couple of 3-inch, square drive interior screws. Naturally, he drove them deep into the plywood so my screwdriver immediately stripped the rusted head. I crawled out to get the VamPliers and a chisel to expose the head. It was tough going with the chisel so I gave the pliers a try. There was very little exposed screw to work with so I had to start backing it out with the tip of the pliers. I half expected to break the pliers with the torque I put on them, but the screw came out, 1/4 turn at a time until it came free enough to do better in the very awkward position I was in. I honestly don't know how I could have done it without the VamPliers, certainly not in the relatively short time it took with them. The VamPliers now rank among my go-to tools and I see myself using them for many other purposes.

Nice pliers
Well made pliers, somewhat of a specialty tool. Works well in the right circumstances

excellent, only one suggestion
I use these quite a bit. the tip grabs the knurled cap on the bathroom sink faucet without slipping, just a gentle squeeze does it to hold the pliers in place. One thing I wish for is pliers with a right angle tip; that way I could apply a tad more torque if I had to

Works when you need them
Nice quality pliers with the great feature of capturing and unscrewing damages screw provided it can grab a piece of it. They work for the intended applications and are also a good grade of pliers.

My favorite go to pliers.
I have several of this brand now. The are simply the best at pliers of all different types. Very satisfied. This particular kit came with a quality hat and a handy roll out case. I filled the case with all my Vampliers.

Well worth it.
Have had these about a month now. Primarily use them on titanium 10-32 aircraft screws. As long as you have a thread or 2 you can get a bite on, they will take them out. Also works well if the screw is backed out just a little so you can grip the head. They've removed everything I've had room to get a grip on. They've also saved me drilling out countless rivets and replacing nutplates. I'd buy them again without hesitation.

work great! really digs into things when clamping down
work great! really digs into things when clamping down, bites very shallow fasteners and are pretty impressive.definatly a handy tool to have around. i like using them for more than just nut and bolt removing. very high quality, the slip joint allowsyou to get into tighter areas and i think a good ability to adjust to different sizes.they will get screws and bolts out but dont expect them to perform a miracle.it a bolt is siezed in and needs to be heated and stuff, you still have to heat it and work at it, somtimes vise grips are more suited to that.

Finish on the tool is excellent, satin surface feel
A little smaller than I expected, but jaws open wide enough to handle almost any screw head, which is what these era designed for. Finish on the tool is excellent, satin surface feel, good grips, machined well. Would recommend.
