Q: The manufacturer says that the mattress size should be 24.4 * 36.2 inches. the closest i have found on amazon is 24 x 38". will this fit?

Honestly, the mattress it came with was very thin, so I purchased another one from Amazon. The Hygge Hush Pack n Play Mattresses, Pack and Play Mattress Pad, Playard Mattress Memory Foam, Portable Toddlers Mattress Firmness Featuring Soft Removable Washable Outer Cover(38"x26") It fits perfectly. Otherwise, the portable crib is fantastic.

Q: Is this play pen regular size?

This play pen is not regular size. it has the actual inside and outside measurements on one of the displayed pictures listed on the left. II haven't opened it, as I just purchased it for my grandddaughter who is due next month. It is smaller to carry to parents and vacations or outside events. I think it's 28" at both ends and 39 on the sides.

Your baby or toddler can take a nap in this portable crib just like any other crib. Plenty of room to sleep or take a nap.

Q: Any pointers on how to get the side rails to lock?

You need to lock the side rails before pushing the bottom down. You just lift each side rail and it locks by itself.
