Great gyroscope for the price
I recently ordered a "precision" gyroscope costing three times as much and was disappointed in the accuracy and duration of the spin. This inexpensive model performs very well for the price with a very long, balanced spin. I would have liked a normal stand and extra winding string but those are quibbles. Buy this one - you won't be disappointed. To be fair, the plastic construction is a concern, and I have not used it long enough to evaluate that issue, but it seems to be solidly constructed. It also is made in China like everything else, but the English/German distributors apparently demand some reasonable level of quality control.I will be buying more for the other kids in my life.

great, economical gyroscope
I've bought several gyroscopes for STEM time for my 2nd and 3rd grade students. This model is the best, it is made of quality materials and, so far, has been resilient to drops on desks and floors.

Very good gyroscope
This is a beautiful piece. The plastic globe is thick and tough, and makes for a safe, fun way to feel the gyroscopic effect (precession). The only complaint, which is minor, is that the cord doesn’t stay in the little hole in the axle. I put a dot of double-sided tape next to the hole which made it much easier to wind.

Well Made !
Works well, comes with a well balanced wheel and a tough string.

Improper sphere :(
Gyro works just fine, maybe a minute run time, but I was sent 2 of the same halves of the sphere, so I can't use it except for a half-sphere stand.

The Gyroscope is not a precision devices and is unstable
This gyroscope is not a precision device. When operating by pulling the string with the axis in vertical position (90 degrees from horizontal), the spinning axis does not hold this vertical position and quickly spirals to 45 degrees with the frame resting on the surface. The rotating wheel of the device is still spinning after the frame rests on the surface. This device should not be used to demonstrate conservation of angular momentum.

Excellent gyroscope
I love giving gyroscopes to kids to play with so they can see and feel how the forces work but have always been frustrated with the cheap metal ones we all had as kids. This is an excellent alternative! It's very well balanced and spins for a very long time. The "hamster ball" as my kids call it is a nice addition as well. You can mount it inside the ball and spin it up and then roll the ball. Of course, due to the gyroscopic effect, the ball will only roll in a perfectly straight line. If you try to roll it 90 degrees off axis, it won't roll at all. I'm very glad to finally have found a good quality gyroscope that is priced at a level you can gift it as a toy.
