Q: I use it with a Verizon account. Not a prepaid? My mom of 75. is having a hard time with her smart phone.

I just plugged in the SIM from my former Journey (which got ran over by a car) and it worked. Tech at a Verizon store said that shouldn't have worked without a six month wait for the prepaid account to time out. YMMV.

Q: Caller ID Readout, is this available in this phone?

The phone does display the number calling if the caller allows it. It displays on front outside display. Not very large print though. If it is one of the stored numbers the stored name is displayed. I believe ring tones can be set for numbers in memory.

Q: How does the prepaid plan work? how much is the service? how many minutes do you get with prepaid service? do you need a separate verizon plan to use?

Verizon prepaid plans regularly start as low as $30 a month for unlimited talk AND text And 5gb of data. They also have a current promotion where you may get a plan as low as $25.

Q: What do I need to do to activate so that I can use my number and prepaid minutes?

Have your pin ready and call the number provided from another phone and it will ask for the numbers on the side of the box.
