Casserole Clay Pot Heat-resistant Premium Ceramic Bowls Lid Cooking Soup Black (Black 66oz)

Purchased this to replace a similar and smaller item I bought from the Japanese market which had broken due to my own clumsiness. This item is pretty standard price/quality of an Asian supermarket household item. It’s affordable and functional and isn’t covered in flowers and kiddie patterns like many of them. The lid knob is harder to grasp than I would like (with a towel wrapped around it) so that’s my one complaint, but again it’s pretty standard for this type of cookware in my experience. I have cooked every day in clay pots of all sizes for years and this is completely as expected for the price. Little bit more $ than buying in person, but can sometimes be hard to find one this large (3qt). If you’re looking for a designer item than expect to pay a lot more elsewhere.

I’ve never used a clay pot before so I’m a little nervous about it. The package instructions aren’t super clear, so I’ll be doing some research. I do know that this is a gorgeous braising pan. It’s going to be perfect for soups and stews, and braising down big cuts of meat to delicious unctuous morsels. I don’t cook like that in the summer so most of it will have to hold off for the cooler months. I like that this is a plain pot. It doesn’t claim 100 miracle space age uses. It’s a basic household item that has been around forever…because it’s great at what it does.

I used this to boil shungite stones and water, as I needed something that wasn't plastic or metal. I was pleasantly surprised that this pot with stood boiling water on my gas stove and look forward to using it again soon! FYI- the packaging and instructions are NOT written in English. This strong, safe, small pot is the real deal!
