Does this move on regular carpet?

I love the music and the innovative style of this adorable toy, but longer piled carpet is not its friend. BTW, this cute baby toy is the best cat toy ever.

the stage 2 setting does not match what is in the listing. Ours has a 5 ft square space and can’t make a circle. Is it defective?

If it doesn't make a circle at all, I would say it is defective.

How do you make it go?

It goes automatically when you turn it on. After a while it stops going and will start again if you touch it or if you get near the sensor.
