I needed a small magnetic lock for our screen door in our sunroom because the door didn't have a lock and I wanted to make sure the kids are secured while playing in there. It's important to make sure that you have a solid connection with the steel plate. If it's off even by paper thin you won't have any magnetic connection. It was super easy to install I did also add some 3M sticky tape on the back side. Not much needing any instructions either it's a simple as when there's power to it it's on when there's no power it's off. So I ordered a 12 volt plug on Amazon that plugs straight into it then we plugged that into a smart outlet where I can control it with my phone. You could easily plug in a toggle switch or button which there are plenty of cheap options on here specific for this. But using a simple smart outlet that we've had allowed us to either just turn it on or leave it off which works for us.

I had to replace a solenoid activated latch in our escape room. The latch held a drawer closed so the mag lock fit in the same space and is working well.

Will not even hold 6.5 lbs do not buy!
