Quality, durability, and aesthetics!
This is my third Gravipod order. I live in the desert, and the monsoons can be very destructive to patio umbrellas. Although my umbrella bases should be able to withstand the winds, they donโt. I ordered these bases as extra support, and they work extremely well. They have not faded from the sun, which is an added bonus. I highly recommend these for ease of use, cost, durability, and overall aesthetics.

Keeps my umbrella steady - even in windy days!
Used this to weigh down a patio umbrella on my deck, and it works perfectly. Super easy to fill with sand (I used play sand from the hardware store), and once it's full, it stays put. The material feels tough and durable, and the design makes it easy to center around the umbrella pole. We've had some breezy days, and the umbrella hasnโt budged. Great solution if you donโt want a heavy, bulky base taking up space. Definitely recommend!

Affordable alternative, especially for a grassy uneven yard...
The sand bag is a much more affordable alternative to the hard plastic weights. Look. Its awesome for an uneven grass area where the hard plastic weights wouldnt lie flat. There are some things I wish I'd have known going in. Hopefully this helps you... ...I would DEFINITELY recommend some sort of larger funnel to fill this. Even an open ended Pringles can would help. The opening to fill the bag isn't as tiny as other reviews made me believe it was, but it could be much larger than it is. It is closed securely with some strong velcro. However the velcro makes it ANNOYING to fill. USE DRY SAND!!! OMG USE DRY SAND Wet sand doesn't flow. (what a great tattoo idea) Wet sand just clumps on the velcro. Wiping it away just spreads it into the the velcro. I always hose it off with a low pressure setting. You have to or the velcro won't stick. So be ready for that fun part. Maybe have a cooler of your favorite alcoholic beverage nearby. Because it's not a quick chore, and if you're me, you'll choose the hottest afternoon so far this year to do this little project and just want to chuck the whole umbrella, sand bags and all across the yard after you've delicately loaded several dozen handfuls of sand into the bag because you don't want to manufacture an object in the hot garage to make this task 100 times more easy. Shoveling sand in with a small garden spade is also annoying....FYI. Once it's full and ready to go, the bag is well made. It's very sturdy. The stiching is great and doesn't feel at all like it will rip. In the end, I'm VERY HAPPY with it. Just...get a funnel.

Great base! Cheaper alternative to water bases, holds a whole bag of sand!
I only saw this base mentioned in the comments on other bases from this company but obviously itโs the best option because it holds full bags of sand - no pouring or mess! I filled it with $2 bags of play sand from Home Depot. I went with a sand base as this was about $27 while water bases seem to start at $60. I also saw reviews that made it seem like water bases are hard to fill. Theyโre also 4 pieces that donโt have handles so harder to move around a patio (that flexibility is one of the reasons I wanted a cantilever/standalone umbrella in the first place) and this base has nice handles to move them around. It was definitely a squish to fit the full bags of sand inside. If the cases were a drop bigger it would be perfect, but I got them in and they look sturdy and of high quality canvas. Very happy with it and it held up well in a light wind today. The base didnโt move at all, which made the umbrella feel secure. FYI I went with this umbrella which seemed to be the cheapest on Amazon from those that had several thousand 4-5 star reviews Best Choice Products 10ft Offset Hanging Market Patio Umbrella w/Easy Tilt Adjustment, Polyester Shade, 8 Ribs for Backyard, Poolside, Lawn and Garden https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0863D7W3Z/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_cL5JfMjYEZHWm

Functional
We have two cantilever umbrellas in our yard. We purchased that 4 piece set of triangular bases that fit in the cross base of the umbrella. Unfortunately when the wind blows the umbrella rocks enough for them to slip a little and we recently had one umbrella fall over. So I bought this Gravipod to sit on top of the other base pieces to add additional weight and support. The fabric appears to be of study construction. I've only had it a week so I can't speak to longevity yet. The top opens, maybe 6" wide, by a velcro strip. I found this very difficult to load with sand. Holding a sand bag and trying to pour while also trying to hold open the opening in the Gravipod was a challenge. Sand caked in to the Velcro and I had to keep scraping it out. TIP: Use very dry sand and a funnel to load. It's still a challenge to get the sand spread around inside the pod. I would also suggest this is a two person job to make it easier and less messy. Once I got the Gravipod 95% filled it was time to pick it up and lift into position over the pole. This was another poorly thought out approach on my part. The pod is obviously heavy and it's flexible so it's hard to lift into position. Kind of like a 3 yr old that doesn't want to get picked up and plays dead. And the hole in the center closes up because that's how fabric works. It was a two man job to lift it over the pole with my hand through the center of the pod to guide it without tearing the fabric. TIP 2: Place the pod on the umbrella base first before filling. I don't recall if there were instructions that mentioned this trick. I didn't look because this was so simple I was confident I could "figure this out myself". Overall I like the fact that is sits centered on the pole and can't slip off. I considered buying a second one for our other cantilever umbrella, but word of caution. Our 2nd umbrella swivels via a pedal on the base. This Gravipod would cover the pedal making it too difficult to use. Just something to consider before purchasing.

Gravipod - Great Product!
We bought two orders (total of 4 of these) to use on our large umbrella base. These are easy to use. We bought 1 order (total of 2) and used them a year. Left them out over the winter - didn't move them. And they still are looking great. Had a big gust of wind and decided to place another order to add 2 more for the umbrella base. That umbrella is going nowhere. We bought 50 lb bags of playsand (one for each Gravipod), unzipped the Gravipod, placed the sand in (unopened), zipped it up and used the two handles to carry it to where we wanted. So easy. Didn't open the sand and it works great! Highly recommend!

It's the best looking and funtioning weight for an umbrella that I've found
I purchased my first Gravipod about a year ago. It worked so good I've purchase four more for all of my umbrellas around our pool. I originally put sand bags on the stands to try and hold them upright. but eventually a wind would come from a different direction and down they would go. These look great and work very well because the sand is perfectly balanced all the way around the stand. They are a bit difficult to move around once all the sand is added but not impossible. I recommend filling them up with as much sand as you can fit inside them (half way doesn't work on a gusty day). I highly recommend this product!

Simple, affordable, elegant solution to keep umbrella from tipping on windy days
I used this to anchor a 9ft traditional market umbrella on an elevated terrace not far from the water. We've experienced increasing and stronger winds and wind gusts, even on sunny days, resulting in the umbrella and its 60lb base tipping repeatedly, damaging the umbrella and surrounding plants, etc. We move this umbrella depending on the angle of the sun and do not want to secure it to the decking. Initially, I used a large bag of garden soil to weigh it down, but that was cumbersome and created a trip hazard. The Gravipod base is a much better, more elegant solution and added just enough weight, 50lbs, to stabilize the umbrella. We put the umbrella down at night and during storms, but can now leave it up on breezy, sunny days without worrying about it tipping over. Two of us working together found the Gravidpod easy to fill with sand and easy to slide over the umbrella pole. I can't say enough good about this thing, wish we'd found it sooner! Time will tell if it is as sturdy as promised, but judging by its construction and the quality of the velcro closure, etc, I'm not worried. Excellent. Buy it.

A big thumb up!
We are a rental company and are glad that we finaly have a solution for the umbrella bases beiing one of our logistical chalences. Our empoyees now do not have to carry the heavy "one piece" bases anymore. We now use a base plate of 10 kg plus the weigt bag. Also our clients like it including the look.

Has been great at holding our very large umbrella in place. We are a lot mor confident in light breezes that the umbrella will stay put. Very well made.

Really good quality
This has made all the difference to the security of my parasol which is 3.3m in diameter. My patio is slightly raised so I get quite a lot of breeze - but it has remained stable. I filled mine with pea gravel which is easy to do using a plastic jug. I have left it out in really heavy rain and it is completely waterproof.
