Spring return is loosely held and comes out after several hammer blows but it is very easy to put back in place.

This is an excellent choice for a casual wire terminal crimping. It's small enough to store in a tool box, crimps terminal really tight and it's simple to use. Though instructions are included, I recommend using a heavy hammer and placing the tool on solid concrete floor. A light weight hammer may bounce too much, not providing a solid hit.The reason for my three start rating is because just after three uses, the spring that supposed to keep the tool tight to the terminal fell off. Tool still works but manufacturing should've put forth a little more effort in quality control. But even though the spring fell off, I'm still recommending it because it has worked well for me so far.

If you’re waiting, just get one, makes the crimping super easy as long as you have a little room.

I wish I would have got this a long time ago. I put it in vise to hold it down better. It works great. Very easy to use. Crimps very tight with a couple smacks of claw hammer. Would buy again. Highly recommend.

First experience I had with this order was the shipping. Ready for delivery, item did not arrive, later it was reported lost and then packaging damaged and possible missing parts. I spoke with Amazon but there was really little that could be verified while dealing with hypothetical situations. The repaired package was then delivered the following day, unfortunately I was no longer home and had to gain help to recover.Once I arrived home and was able to open the package, it looked like everything was there although the cable cutter seems to be missing one of the rubber covers for the handle. There was a repaired rip but it also could have just been shipped this way.My actual disappointment was with the hammer crimp tool, It came with instructions which was nice but i found a few things either missing or it did not function as the instructions stated. It does not tell you to but I highly recommend securing the tool to the table, this would make it much easier to use. The second thing is in part 2 of the instructions, it stated that you can lock the tool in the open position by moving the lift pin to the left or right while open, this worked the first time but after the first strike of a 4oz mini hammer, it will no longer lock in open, this now becomes a lot more of a hassle.In the end, this would be good if you have no access to power or heat but I think I'm sticking to soldering in the wire braids after slight compression of the casing.
