A valuable tool for anyone providing oral hygiene to someone who may have difficulty keeping the mouth open. Designed with an easy-to-control handle that is long, to protect fingers Inner core is rigid, but the outer, latex-free foam surface is comfortable. Can be cleaned in hot water (much like a toothbrush would be) and reused for the same person. The thicker Open Wide Mouth Rest is also available. It has the same sturdy structure, but 40% more foam to withstand greater biting pressure.

Good for special needs children!
Like most special needs children my daughter hates getting her teeth brushed. This simple device helps soooo much!!

great for extra needs kiddos
If you have a kiddo who bites down on the brush or even gets tired of holding their mouth open - this is a must! I use this regularly to help me brush mysons teeth. It helps me keep his mouth open and brush his teeth effectively.

Not good for strong biters.
My 10 year old special needs son chewed these apart the first time we used them. Probably good for someone who's not very strong or is more willing to cooperate, but didn't work for us.We have a friend who uses them with their child and loves them, so I think it depends on the person.

Very Useful
For those who perform oral hygiene on uncooperative folks, this is a real help. It is easy to insert and stiff enough to hold the mouth open. It rinses clean easily.

Don’t waste your money
Awful. Not worth it at all. My autistic 4 yr old chewed through it in one brushing. Now to try and get a refund. NOT durable.

Great for special needs persons
I love these things. I use them for my daughter with special needs. She is 5 and it just fits so I would not use on kids younger than 5 because their moth may be too small. She is a biter and it is very difficult to brush her teeth. She tends to clamp down on the brush so I use these to keep her mouth open. While this is not the intended function of the item it works well for this. It is just a tongue depressor cover is a foam so being bitten will cause it to break down faster but just inspect it for defects before each use. We get about a month out of it before replacing. The foam is great as opposed to using a solid device because my daughter bites HARD and this prevents damage to her teeth. If you have a special needs child who is difficult to brush I highly recommend this item.

Great product
We use these on a disabled person that likes to bite down while brushing teeth so these are wonderful to help hold their mouth open (not get bit in the process) and be able to brush in the tops & bottoms of upper & lower teeth.
