Great essays not many visuals
I just purchased The 50's and the 60's Kindle editions and was expecting an occasional photo, which these do not have. Not even the great classic cartoons. I guess you can't have it all because the articles are great. These are well worth having for the historic value. I was born in 1950 and lived through these important decades.

A third excellent review from the pages of The New Yorker
I've also read the New Yorker's volumes on the Forties and the Fifties. The books are essays and reviews that appeared in the magazine and discuss events of the decade at hand. Some of them are perhaps too long, too "highbrow," maybe to "correctly" written to be immediately comprehensible. But you get some good points of view on important issues of history. I wish they'd produce a volume on the Thirties!

Remembering the 60's
Excellent collection of articles by folks who were talented writers in or about the 1960's. Stories published by the New Yorker are always worthwhile and enlightening.

Great book
Great book. With more than 500 pages, it can devote only a few pages to each of the major important "things" that occurred.

Very disappointing
Sifting through the many articles I was not impressed with the selection or the writing. Mediocre at best
