Functional, but kinda ugly
I gave it 4 stars because it really works, totally waterproof, and the elastic headband makes it fit reasonably well.BUT -- it's absolutely the goofiest-looking hat that I own. The low, low crown makes me look like a peanut-headed birth defect. My wife literally has to look away from me to keep from grinning. For the price, I'm keeping it -- but I probably won't wear it much, if at all.:o)

She likes it!
Here in the rainy Pacific NW, my girlfriend has been using a rainhat from Ikea made out of the same material that their shopping bags are made from. Recently she mentioned that that hat was wearing down and she needed a replacement. Waterproof was an obvious requirement and a drawstring would be an upgrade to the Ikea hat.A bit of searching and digging through the reviews brought me to this hat which I purchased and received in Prime-speedy time. Yesterday she went walking in some of the harshest rain we've had in a while. When she came back, I was happy to hear that she was quite pleased with both the water resistance and the drawstring's usefulness keeping the hat well seated on her head.Sounds like a keeper to me. And the hat too!

It works
Well I will start with the good it works well for keeping the water off my head and fit was good. Now for the bad, the construction quality has a lot to be desired. As you can see from the picture the pull string are not across from one another, for me I work outside on the river and it gets very windy so that is important to me. The other thing is the way who ever is storing the item. Not sure what they do to it but I have tried everything I can think of to remove the crease from the brim and can’t seem to get it out. If anybody has any ideas, please let me know. The only reason a crease is annoying is because it allows the water to flow into my jacket.

Definitely waterproof
Waterproof and comfortable, but can’t get the hat in a decent shape.

Lightweight easy to pack rain hat when you don't want or need to spend a fortune
I recently went on a trip to Scotland and at the last minute was thinking I better look for a rain hat, since having to wear the hood on my raincoat gets annoying at times. I have used this brand for cheap rain gear before and decided to give the hat a try. I'm glad I did. It's extremely lightweight which makes it easy to pack, or just throw in your bag since it's not a burden to carry. I ended up wearing it both in a pretty heavy hours long downpour in Edinburgh, and it kept my head dry, and also as an impromptu sun hat in St. Andrews. It did a good job for the price in both applications. The blue color is maybe somewhere between navy and a royal blue. Its a nice subdued blue color, not obnoxious at all.I think the only downside is that is gets rather too hot to have on in warm weather (like Florida summer thunderstorm weather) but it would still work great for a quick downpour or dash to the car, but I think it would be too hot for extended wear in those conditions. If you spend a lot of time in raining weather you probably want to invest in something more substantial, but for a vacation, a weekend camping trip, to easily grab when you are headed out the door and not sure if it will rain today or not, this is a pretty good affordable hat.

Kewel bucket hat
I need a good rain hat. I am bald and hate the sound of rain drops thwacking on my scalp. I have been very happy with the Frogg Toggs rain suit I own. It is light, comfortable, has a hood and folds easily to store in the pouch. The rain hat is also great. It is affordable (something I cannot say about Tilleys.) That is important because if I lose it, I will not fret the replacement cost. It also fits my head very well and the draw string easily tucks above the brim. It is also breathable--essential in Houston (Hate the 'Stros, huh? Well, no Houstonians care.) where, during the summer, the temperature is often over 100 degrees and the humidity is brutal. Oh, asso, the camo design makes me look like a gun-packing Texan, who has a pmped out Ford F450 pickup that is never used to carry any thing in the bed, becuz it might chip the paint.

A LOT lighter than as pictured.
I'm giving three stars because I had to trade-in. I bought what I read as "Royal Blue," though it ended up being more of a "light blue jean." All together, off by at LEAST four hues.

Excellent waterproof hat
Excellent waterproof hat, but very hot to wear even in winter, does the job I bought it for though, keeps me dry from the rain.

Inexpensive rain hat that keeps the rain off. Very thin
For a paper hat, it does very well. It's very thin, so you can stow it in a lot of places a regular hat won't go. It is , and no pun intended, paper thin though. It won't give you any insulation. Something to think about. Still, worth the purchase.

The raining champ
I live in a rainy city but I hate wearing hoods. This handy waterproof hat is the perfect solution - I wear it with a rain jacket, my head is dry, water runs off the brim and doesn't drip down my collar. It's light and I barely notice that it's on, and it's easily squished down/folded to fit in a pocket. Does get a little wrinkly and misshapen, but I'm comfy and happy underneath.
